Wanneer ik naar Londen ging om mijn vader te bezoeken, begon hij altijd met een verhaal over Harold en Agatha. Hij haalde me op van het vliegveld, dus elke keer als ik ging, vertelde hij me deze verhalen ter plekke. Er werd nooit iets opgeschreven. Zo is het eigenlijk ontstaan.
