Shiori Kutsuna was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on 22 December 1992 – her zodiac sign is Capricorn and she holds both Australian and Japanese nationality. She’s an actress who’s probably known best for her portrayal of one of the supporting characters, Yukio in the 2018 action adventure comedy movie “Deadpool 2”, written by Rhett Reese and two others, directed by David Leitch, and which starred Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin and Morena Baccarin. It follows a team of mercenaries put together by Wade Wilson (Deadpool) to stop the cyborg Cable who has come from the future, from killing a teenage boy with supernatural abilities. The movie won six of the 57 awards for which it was nominated.
Early life, family and education
Shiori was raised in Sydney alongside her younger brother by their Japanese parents, about whom nothing is known as they prefer to be left out of the spotlight. As per rumors, their father’s a businessman, while their mother’s into the real estate business.
She was 14 when she moved to Japan to work on her career as a model and an actress. Shiori studied at Horikoshi High School, and in 2006 launched her acting career with her portrayal of Fujisawa Risa in the drama series “Homeroom on the Beachside”. The following years saw her play both supporting and lead characters in various popular Japanese series, such as the comedy drama “Mei-chan’s Butler”, the crime drama “Majo Saiban”, and the drama “A Little Princess”.
In 2010, Shiori appeared in a couple of movies – the drama “Looking Up at the Half-Moon”, the drama “Mobadora Vol.2 4×4”, and the comedy “A Boy and His Samurai”.
She matriculated in 2011, and then enrolled at a college, however, Shiori dropped out in 2013 as she was unable to focus on both studying and acting.

After completing her high school education, Shiori was invited to play lead characters in what turned out to be various mediocre movies, such as the 2011 drama “My Back Pages”, the 2012 comedy “Working Holiday”, and the 2012 animated family adventure “The Life of Budori Gusuko” (voice role).
She gained recognition in 2013 with her portrayal of one of the lead characters, Haraki in the comedy drama “Petaru Dansu”, written and directed by Hiroshi Ishikawa, and which also starred Aoi Mizayaki and Sakura Ando. The movie follows four women who have embarked on a road trip together, and it was nominated for a single award. One of the most popular movies Shiori has appeared in was the 2013 action crime drama “Unforgiven” (original “Yurusarezaru Mono”), written and directed by Sang-il Lee, and which also starred the famous Japanese actor Ken Watanabe, and Jun Kunimura. The film’s a recreation of Clint Eastwood’s eponymous movie, and it won two of the nine awards for which it was nominated.

In 2011, Shiori played Asuda Yui in all 11 episodes of the drama “Kaseifu no Mita”, which follows a family trying to continue with their lives after the woman of the house commits suicide. A couple of her following roles were in the 2012 science fiction drama “O-Parts”, the 2012 comedy mini-series “Single Mothers”, and the 2013 comedy mini-series “Don’t Cry, Hara-Chan”.
In 2016, she was cast to play the lead character Kamogawa Koishi in the comedy mini-series “Kamogawa Shokudo”, which also starred Shima Iwashita and Naomi Zaizen, and follows the father and daughter running the eatery Kamogawa Shokuda, at which they serve ‘food with memories’ which helps their troubled customers leave their restaurant happy.
