“Fixer To Fabulous” is one of those shows that we can’t ever get enough of. Premiered in late 2019, the show began as an HGTV renewed bet on a charming family who can lead gorgeous restorations. Jenny and Dave Marrs were exactly what the network was looking for at the time, as the show’s success has since landed them several seasons so far.

While “Fixer to Fabulous” is as wholesome as it gets, a lawsuit against the Marrs from some former clients has put a slightly shadow over the great reputation the couple has built-in and away from TV.
So what was the lawsuit against the Marrs, what did it have to do with the show, and how did all of that end? Keep with us to find out!
What Was The Lawsuit About?
The lawsuit against Dave and Jenny Marrs made headlines in May 2024, when it was revealed that a family sued them for an alleged breach of contract over a house they commissioned to build.
The plaintiffs were Matthew and Sarah McGrath, a couple who bought a house in Bella Vista, Arkansas, in early 2022. According to reports, they hired Dave’s companies Marrs Construction and Jupiter Rentals to get involved in the construction of their house, and subsequently make several upgrades to it. These included adding stairs, repairing the kitchen sink, installing floorboards, and other fixings.
According to the McGraths, the repairs had cost them $10,000, which were paid beforehand, and which the company promised to have done in a 30-day window. However, the issue started when the Marrs allegedly failed to not only comply with the established period, but also didn’t perform any of the fixings to the house. Later on, it was learned by the McGraths that the house had more issues than expected in the initial inspection, and that the Marrs’ company had allegedly worsened the house’s condition.
What Happened to the Lawsuit?
Following the end of the closing period agreed between the McGraths and Marrs to fix the formers’ house, things were already going downhill between the parties. According to reports, the McGraths and Marrs spent several months trying to settle this issue to no avail, eventually leaving the McGraths no option but to file a lawsuit against Marrs Construction and Jupiter Rentals in February 2023. It’s unclear whether other companies or parties were also involved in the lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, the McGraths requested that the defendants bear all costs associated with the repair of their house, which was first revealed to be almost $39,000 in repairs and construction of walkways, and over $47,000 in landscaping. They also requested payment of legal fees.
After two years of conversations, the parties came to a settlement just a couple of days before a scheduled trial date was set to happen in January 2025. Though not many details were revealed, People reported that the lawsuit was to be dismissed.
While this issue isn’t by far the only instance in which the “Fixer To Fabulous” stars have got into some type of controversy, it was probably draining period of their life.
Is The Show Going To Continue?
Jenny and Dave Marrs actively kept working on their “Fixer To Fabulous” projects, while also dealing with legal battles off cameras. The settlement between the Marrs and McGraths was reached only a month before the premiere of their show’s sixth season in January 2025.

Before that, the couple worked on in the spin-off “Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano”, which was filmed in Tuscany, Italy. The project took several months to complete, and awakened rumors about the Marrs possibly moving to the Mediterranean country, though none of this was ever confirmed by them. They eventually returned to Arkansas to film their main show’s sixth season, which was especially emotional for them.
As reported by Country Living, the new episodes of “Fixer To Fabulous” had the couple experiencing a roller-coaster of emotions, going from repairing a house for a family who had lost their child, to performing a 24-hour-long renovation a mother-daughter who had both been diagnosed with cancer. All of this was done by the Marrs ,as they also raised their five children and took care of several businesses. There’s also a memoir written by Jenny that will possibly be released in late 2025.
All in all, there are many reasons to believe that “Fixer To Fabulous” has many future seasons on the way.
Family Life
Family is very important for the Marrs, leaving no doubts about why their audience find their show to be so compelling.
As it happens, Dave and Jenny have been married since 2005,and welcomed their first children, twin boys Nathan and Ben, in 2010. As the Marrs have revealed, their twins came at a time when they were almost ready to give up having kids, as they had been trying fertilization methods without much success.
Jenny experienced some health complications weeks before Nathan and Ben were ready to be born, but much to their relief, the pregnancy reached its term, though both babies had to spend a month in a neonatal intensive care unit before happily making it home. The twins are now teens who have developed an interest in art and hands-on activities.
The third oldest Marrs child is Sylvie, who was born in the Congo, and was adopted by the family as a baby in 2012. She didn’t make it to the US until she was two years old, and though her mother affirms that she took some time to adapt, she’s been happily living with the family ever since.
The youngest Marrs child is Charlotte, who was born in 2014. Due to the delay in bringing Sylvie to the US, Charlotte arrived home a couple of months before her older sister. Nevertheless, their parents affirm that the two sisters have developed a ‘precious’ bond.
There’s no doubt that the Marrs have connected a with their audience because of their genuine nature. That’s also why their fans have stuck with them even during the tough times they experienced during their legal battle. Hopefully all will run smoothly with their next series!
