Bree was raised in Palo Alto alongside her three younger brothers, by their father Kevin Turner who is a former American Football player, and who played for several teams competing in the National Football League (NFL), and their mother who is a housewife.

Bree became interested in acting while attending Monte Vista High School, and appeared in various plays performed at the school – upon matriculating in 1994, she was voted the Homecoming Queen.
