Even though he’s had his fair share of run-ins with the law and faced plenty of hurdles along the way, Tickle never gives up on his moonshining dreams. And right there beside him through it all is his wife, Carol Ann.
Carol Ann is a bail bondswoman, and Tickle jokingly said that she had pursued him for six years before the two exchanged their wedding vows on 19 October 2019. As he said, she’s his rock, his biggest supporter, and the one who keeps him grounded. Carol Ann’s love and encouragement mean everything to Tickle, as he navigates the ups and downs of his moonshining adventures. Together, they show us what it means to stick together through thick and thin, proving that love and passion can conquer just about anything.
Tim Smith: The Master Distiller

Also, Shelby is deeply involved in her community, embracing her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and School Nutritionist with enthusiasm. Additionally, she plays an active part in her church, where she co-ordinates various activities, including a summer program for children.

With his worn-out overalls and a hat that seemed to have seen it all, he was a living legend in the hills of North Carolina. Popcorn wasn’t just any old moonshiner; he was the real deal, a master distiller whose name carried weight in every corner of the Appalachian region. However, life wasn’t all smooth sailing for Popcorn. He ran into his fair share of trouble with the law over the years, and eventually it all caught up with him.
Facing the prospect of another stint in prison, Popcorn made the heartbreaking decision to take his own life in 2009. It was a devastating blow to his family, friends, and the tight-knit moonshining community he’d become a part of. Popcorn’s wife, Pamela, stood by him through thick and thin, her unwavering support a testament to the bond they shared.
