Fans have been missing History Channel’s “Counting Cars” like crazy. The last time the show launched new episodes was back in 2021, and while no official cancellation notice was ever made after that, the silence from the network regarding the show’s future says it all.

Meanwhile, Danny ‘The Count’ Koker and his fantastic team of eccentric and talented car customising experts, builders, and painters, have been doing their thing on YouTube. Their channel has regained part of the show’s popularity on the History Channel, with the difference that now the Count’s Kustoms staff seems to be creatively freer than ever before.
However, fans can’t help but wonder whether Count’s Kustoms still has what it takes to keep up with the mind-blowing creations they used to create back when the show premiered in 2012.
So can Danny Koker and his staff still create new and amazing car customizations? Or are they destined to appeal to their audience’s nostalgia for many more years? Follow, as we explain it all!
What Happened to Count’s Kustoms?
The History Channel might have stopped producing “Counting Cars”, but that wasn’t enough to stop Danny ‘The Count’ Koker and his staff from generating business and entertaining their audience.
Their YouTube channel – Count’s Kustoms Network – is living proof of the staff’s will to keep producing amazing content, and creating the best and most original car customizations around, featuring their work from detailing to the delivery of the cars. On top of that, The Count doesn’t go short in showing interesting details about his business, personal collection, and on-the-road adventures in the videos.
Maintaining their trademark approach to keeping their audience entertained, has translated well into an online show format. That’s why, by early 2025 their channel has over 110,000 subscribers, and accumulated over 25 million views. Their social media accounts are as popular as ever these days, accounting for 1.5 million followers on their Instagram and Facebook alone.

What Type of Content They’re Making Now?
What the old “Counting Cars” audience wanted to see was amazing car customization, so that’s what Count’s Kustoms keeps delivering on their YouTube channel. As seen in the many videos they share, the staff maintains their focus on customizing muscle and classic cars for their clients, often delivering top-notch details, attention-attracting paint jobs, and beautiful metal work on the car’s bodies.
While cars are the main thing Count’s Kustoms do, it’s not the only one. Thanks to their everlasting TV fame and the unique creations they deliver on a basis, the shop also has a museum that their fans from around the world can visit, and see The Count’s terrific and massive car collection, containing classic cars from the last century.
Danny’s Count’s Car Tours has normal and VIP options to let his fans see the best of the best at his shop.
All in all, it seems that Count’s Kustoms keeps on brand with the identity they built on TV, and throughout the many years they’ve been working at their Las Vegas garage. This is what works better for them, so there’s no apparent reason to change it, whether it’s aired on TV or not.
Count’s Kustoms Most Popular Videos
The two most popular videos from Count Kustoms Network are the trailers for their Count’s Kulture, which was a competition the shop created alongside a car dealer named John Hiester. The online series featured several car builders who competed to make the best classic muscle car customization out of a dozen cars purchased by Hiester.
Count’s Kulture was launched in late 2020, as the shop’s way to keep active during the pandemic. This pleased their fans to end, gaining the channel over four million views of the show’s trailer alone.
Another famous video on Count’s Kustoms Network is the 1970 Chevelle reveal at the 2022 SEMA event. On top of that, the channel doesn’t leave behind the iconic sense of humor that made the TV show so famous often sharing tidbits about the projects done at the garage mixed with funny video interactions between Horny Mike and Danny and Ryan Evans.
Some of the mini-series launched by the YouTube channel include “Count’s On Cars”, “Show Me Your Ride”, “Count’s Finer Details”, and question and answers sessions held by Danny himself. The latter also demonstrates that the entire team seems to have a lot of creative control outside of TV but still keeps their candid and entertaining personalities for their online audiences to see.
Who Is Still Working With Danny?
Despite the end of “Counting Cars”, Danny Koker’s staff at Count’s Kustoms is still formed by the iconic car builders and painters that we came to love in the show.
For a start, there’s Horny Mike, who often makes appearances in the shop’s YouTube videos, whether he’s creating eye-catching 3D details for cars or chaos at the garage. One of the most viewed videos on the channel is entitled “Horny Mike Sells The Horny Bus”, leaving no doubts about his popularity among Count’s Kustoms audiences.
Then there’s Ryan Evans, the star painter in the shop and the perfect contrast to Horny Mike. These days, Ryan still actively working for Danny Koker, while giving master-classes about car painting and related topics throughout the US.
There’s also Kevin Mack, the unforgettable shop manager, who is also Danny’s business right hand. Though he isn’t very active on social media, Kevin appears in many of the videos shared by Count’s Kustoms Network. Last but not least, there’s Shannon Aikau, who manages the bike shop and is a top-notch builder whom a huge part of the audience grew very fond of as the show aired.
These days, Shannon is focused on his work at Count’s Kustoms and on his family, sharing many pics of his wife and daughters on social media.
All in all, it’s hard to understand what the real reason was behind the silent cancellation of “Counting Cars” by History, but Danny and his staff seem to be doing just fine, with business exactly the way they want it.
