As one of the most successful sitcoms of the 2010s, it’s hard to forget about “The Big Bang Theory” and the many laughs it gave us. The show was incredibly addictive because of its light humor, simple yet entertaining plots, and the easy way it kept us all loyally following the story of its nerdy, academically accomplished, and often eccentric characters and the equally interesting people in their lives for 12 seasons.

Although “The Big Bang Theory” ended in 2019, there’s no way we’ve forgotten about the show or the people who made it so special. That’s why we’ve looked into the lives of the show’s stars today, what projects they’ve been in, what they’re working on these days, and so much more! Keep with us to learn what “The Big Bang Theory” stars are doing now!

Johnny Galecki

Despite appearing in several TV shows and movies, playing Leonard Hofstadter in “The Big Bang Theory” was the role that brought Johnny Galecki to international stardom. As the series’ main star, his character Leonard was always relatable and amusing to watch, especially compared to his eccentric roommate and fellow scientific genius Sheldon Cooper.

Following the end of the series, Johnny Galecki has remained inactive acting-wise. In 2018, he appeared in the short-lived series “The Conners”, a spin-off of ABC’s 1990s sitcom “Roseanne”, in which he appeared as David Healy. On top of that, Johnny was Henry Montgomery in the 2019 movie “A Dog’s Journey”.

Both of these roles make up Johnny’s latest TV and film roles, respectively, before he took a several years-long hiatus for unknown reasons.

While Johnny’s professional life has been almost uneventful since “The Big Bang Theory”, that’s not the case with his personal life. In late 2019, he welcomed his son Avery with Alana Meyer, whom he’d been dating for around one year. However, the couple split in late 2020.

In early 2023, Johnny shared a pic of himself, son Avery, and Morgan, whom he quietly introduced then as his girlfriend. Then in 2024, Johnny and Morgan appeared in Architectural Digest, later revealing that they were married and expecting a daughter, who was born soon after the photoshoot took place. Details about the couple’s story are unknown, except that in 2025 they live in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jim Parsons

Sheldon Cooper was undeniably one of the main reasons “The Big Bang Theory” was successful. Besides the inherent interest that a character with Sheldon’s particularities caused in the audiences, the character was entertaining and unique in many ways.

A considerable part of that magic was thanks to Jim Parsons, who portrayed the character until he was satisfied with it, so refusing a millionaire contract to film seasons 13 and 14, which left the production no option but to wrap up the series in 2019. Jim was actually the highest-paid actor in the world for the second half of his time in “The Big Bang Theory”.

From 2017 to 2024, Jim narrated and produced the show’s sequel – “Young Sheldon”. He also voiced his cameo in an episode of “The Simpsons”, and appeared in the series “Hollywood” in 2020. However, he has mostly focused his career on other media, with roles in films such as “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”, “The Boys in the Band” and “Spoiler Alert”, on top of taking part in the theatre plays “A Man of No Importance”, “Mother Play” and “Our Town”.

While Jim has been married to producer and director Todd Spiewak since 2017, he keeps most details about his personal life under wraps. That also includes uploading very few posts on his rarely updated Instagram account.

Kaley Cuoco

Penny was the perfect contrast to Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper. Despite the fact that she wasn’t as academically accomplished as her nerdy neighbors, Penny was quite wise in the social and emotional department, showing compelling character development throughout the entire series, actress Kaley Cuoco finding international acclaim with her portrayal.

Unlike her former co-stars Johnny and Jim, Kaley’s experiences on  TV since the end of “The Big Bang Theory” have been considerable. For a start, she was a producer and voice actor for Harley Quinn in the character’s self-named 2019 animated series, which also gained her a Critics’ Choice Super Award in the Best Voice Actress category. She later reprised her role in the series “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!”, which premiered in 2024.

From 2020 to 2022, Kaley starred as Cassie Bowden in “The Flight Attendant” and in the comedy thriller from 2023 named “Based on a True Story”. Kaley has also appeared in the movies “The Man from Toronto”, “Meet Cute” and “Role Play”.

Regarding her personal life, Kaley began dating equestrian Karl Cook in 2016, became engaged in November 2027, married in 2018, then broke up in 2021. A year later, Kaley began dating actor Tom Pelphrey, with whom she welcomed a daughter in early 2023, and became engaged to in 2024.

Simon Helberg

Howard Wolowitz’s eccentricity, fashion choices, and sometimes unsettling way of approaching women never failed to make his character entertaining. It was Simon Helberg’s acting that made the character so entertaining to watch for many seasons.

Although his character in “The Big Bang Theory” gained him worldwide fame, Simon already had vast experience in the comedy field before being cast in it, and continued choosing roles in the same genre after the show’s end. One of those is in the series “Poker Face”, appearing as FBI Agent Luca Clark. He also reprised his role as Howard in “The Big Bang Theory” prequel “Young Sheldon” in 2021 and voiced Dr. Revanche in “American Dad!”.

Some film roles he’s had are as Nathan in “As They Made Us”, as Dmitri in “Space Oddity” and starring as The Accompanist in the romantic drama “Annette” in 2021.

Kunal Nayyar

Last but not least, we have Kunal Nayyar, who played the role of Raj Koothrappali in “The Big Bang Theory”. Despite having similar interests as his fellow nerdy friends and co-workers, Raj’s selective mutism while around women was an important trait of his character, one that the audiences saw him get over as Raj’s character developed in many ways throughout the series.

Since the show’s end, Kunal has appeared in the series “Criminal: UK” and “Night Court”, on top of starring in the British thriller series “Suspicion” . He’s voiced the character Guy Diamond in the animated movies “Trolls World Tour” and “Trolls Band Together”, while also appearing in films such as “Think Like a Dog”, “The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry”, the sci-fi drama “Spaceman” ,and “How to Date Billy Walsh”.

All in all, the actors from “The Big Bang Theory” have each walked different paths in their careers following the show’s end. However, their time as our favorite TV nerds will remain in our hearts for many years to come.
