The Texas-based Martin Bros Customs staff has gained international fame since the “Iron Resurrection” premiere in 2016. The team’s leaders are Joe and Amanda Martin, the likable and relatable couple who own the business, and make dreams come true by bringing seemingly trashy old cars back to their former glory.

There is no shortage of great things about “Iron Resurrection”, but it was inevitable for audiences to lose track of the Martins following the show’s long-extended hiatus from TV starting in 2022. This also raises questions about Amanda’s whereabouts, whether she’s still involved with the business or if she and Joe have followed other professional paths.

So what’s going on with Amanda Martin and “Iron Resurrection” these days? Keep with us to find out!

What Is Amanda Doing Now?

Always a fan favorite, Amanda Martin is one of the people whose work is key to making Martin Bros Customs function as we know it. Amanda’s strong finance and management background adds to her visible passion for cars, and bringing the best out of every project, making her the best person to lead the way in the family’s business.

“Iron Resurrection” viewers know well how great Amanda is at her job and in front of the camera, so it’s inevitable to wonder what’s going on with her nowadays. As it happens, Amanda and the rest of the “Iron Resurrection” cast took an extended break from TV following its sixth season’s finale in 2022, but they eventually returned to the small screen in 2024 for a new season.

Besides appearing in the show, Amanda’s social media reveals that she’s doing really well managing for Martin Bros Customs, and as a dog rescue advocate. The latter hobby is one she takes very seriously, to the point that she’s involved with non-profit organizations dedicated to it.

While it’s known that Amanda and Joe are still happily married, other details about her personal life are unknown. Outside of that, it’s good to see Amanda doing as well as ever.

Did The Show Return?

The right time for the seventh “Iron Resurrection” season finally came in 2024, nearly two years after the last new episode was aired. It’s unclear why it took the show so long to return to the screen, but many assumed that “Iron Resurrection” had been cancelled for good when its sixth season’s finale in late 2022 was followed by an extended break from TV, during which no news about the show’s future was revealed.

While “Iron Resurrection” aired its first six seasons on MotorTrend, some network changes resulted in the show being put on Discovery+. The seventh season kept its usual ten-episode format, and aired from January to March 2024.

According to an Instagram video from late 2023, Amanda affirmed that the seventh season included some seal surprises, on top of gaining Martin Bros Customs its first brand partner in the show’s run. Despite there not being any announcement of an upcoming eighth season to date, all of these items are great news for those who’ve been waiting for new episodes of “Iron Resurrection” for a while.

Dog Sheltering Hobby

Besides managing Martin Bros Customs and appearing in a successful TV show, Amanda Martin is also a committed dog rescue advocate. Specifically, she’s involved with So Cal Pit Bull Rescue, a California-based non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and sheltering pit bulls. There is also PAWS Shelter of Central Texas, for which Amanda has promoted fund-collecting campaigns to help stray dogs, often encouraging people to adopt sheltered dogs.

Amanda’s love for dogs isn’t anything new, as she’s been working with diverse dog sheltering organizations for years, and also owns several dogs herself. As seen in her side Instagram account The Martin Mutts, she goes to great lengths to not only help unprotected animals, but also to spread information about dog care and uplift pit bulls, which is a breed she puts special emphasis on in her posts.

Though it’s unclear how involved Joe is in his wife’s altruistic activities, the commitment that Amanda puts in this shows that helping dogs is more than just a hobby for her, but a life’s mission.

What Did She Do Before The Show?

While Amanda and Joe Martin keep most details about their private life under wraps despite their TV personality status, some facts about her life before the show have become known since “Iron Resurrection” rose to popularity.

For a start, Amanda has a formidable background in finance. As seen in her LinkedIn profile, she worked for two renowned banking institutions in the 2000s and most of the 2010s, her experience including being an executive, a branch manager, and a product manager. Interestingly enough, Amanda’s latest banking position listed on the professional website dates from 2016, the same year that “Iron Resurrection” began airing on Velocity, turned MotorTrend.

Amanda seemingly left that job in 2017, thus it isn’t far-fetched to think that the then-increasing success of “Iron Resurrection” and Martin Bros Customs played a role in her decision.

That said, Amanda’s ample experience in finance and management positions makes her skills at managing Martin Bros Customs make lots of sense. Her knowledge extends far beyond the office though, as her passion for the automotive industry and knack for making the most logical business decisions have played a huge role in the car shop’s success throughout the years, as fans have  seen in “Iron Resurrection”.

Martin Bros & Rise To Fame

Following the premiere of “Iron Resurrection” in 2016, Amanda and Joe Martin have seen their business grow to international fame, which isn’t easy to achieve for most small car restorers. Nonetheless, the success of Martin Bros Customs was a long time coming, as Martin has been involved with car restoration since the 1990s.

“Iron Resurrection” wasn’t Joe’s first rodeo on TV though. In 2004 he appeared in two episodes of “Biker Build-Off”, in which he showed his bike-building skills at a time when these were what all the automotive uproar was about. However, at some point, all the frenzy about choppers died off, and as Joe confessed to Fuel Curve in 2020, he closed down his former show in the late 2000s recession.

While it’s unclear how Joe got back on his feet with the automotive shop, he and Amanda were set for stardom when a producer contacted the restorer and requested that they film a teaser reel to see if they had what it takes to make it on TV. That’s how “Iron Resurrection” began, as a demonstration of Joe’s love for his craft, and his bond with his wife and friends.

Now that “Iron Resurrection”’s run on TV has resumed in 2024, there’s no better time to see these amazing people on TV, so, do tune in!.
