Age, Early Life, and Education Background
Tahj Dayton Mowry hails from Honolulu, Hawaii, and was born under the Taurus zodiac sign on 17 May 1986, which makes him 36 years old as of 2022. His father is the US Army veteran Timothy Mowry, who now serves as a jailer/custody officer of the Glendale Police Department, and his mother Darlene Renee Mowry, who used to manage her children’s careers. His parents attended the same high school before joining the army together, and rose through the ranks to become Sergeants; they divorced in 2015. He follows the Christianity religion.
The aforementioned twin actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry have appeared together in several projects including the WB/ABC sitcom “Sister, Sister”, and the Disney Channel Original film “Twitches.” Tamera is also a TV personality and a former singer. Tahj’s younger brother is the former football player, wines salesperson and entertainer, Tavior Mowry.
Tahj attended Welby Way Elementary School in West Hill, then went to Westlake High School in Thousand Oaks, where he played football. He eventually matriculated to Pepperdine University, in Malibu, California.
Tahj made his TV debut in 1990, playing Greg in the episode “Who’s Minding the Kid?” of Blake Hunter and Martin Cohan’s sitcom “Who’s the Boss?” His praised performance saw him cast to portray Teddy in 14 episodes of the ABC sitcom “Full House”, from 1991 to 1995 – the Jeff Franklin show starred Bob Saget, Jodie Sweetin and John Stamos. In the mid-’90s, he was seen in several other series, such as “Out All Night,” “Sister, Sister,” “Alladin,” and “What-a-Mess.” He later appeared in single episodes of several hit series, including “Star Trek: Voyager” and “Friends.” Mowry rose to stardom in 1997 for his starring role in the John Marshall, Essence Atkins and Jason Weaver-starred sitcom “Smart Guy”, playing the role of Theo James Henderson through 1999.
2000s and 2010s
In 2002, Mowry was selected to star as Wade Load in the Disney Channel animated series “Kim Possible,” which also starred Will Friedle, Sadie Stanley and Christy Carlson, lending his voice in 86 episodes until 2007. Between 2012 and 2017, Mowry starred as Tucker Dobbs in 100 episodes of Dan Berendsen’s Freeform sitcom “Baby Daddy”, and thereafter landed main roles in the series “Black Don’t Crack” and the sitcom “How We Roll” in 2021 and 2022 respectively. He will star as Gary ‘Moog’ Moogowski in the upcoming musical comedy “The Muppets Mayhem.”
Tahj made his film debut in the 1991 Bruce Kimmel-directed video “Rappin’ N’ Rhymin.’” He later played Ollie in the video “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” in 1999, then played his first major film role in the 2000 fantasy-comedy movie “Seventeen Again”, as Willie Donovan in the Jeffrey W. Byrd-directed comedy-drama, which starred his twin sisters. The movie was a hit and had an impressive box office collection of almost $140 million against a budget of $40 million.
In 2001, he was cast to star as Jay Martin in the Disney Channel film “Hounded,” which also starred Craig Kirkwood and Ed Begley, and in the same year was cast in another Disney Channel Original film, “The Proof Point,” which is based on an eponymous novel by Ellen Weiss.
Tahj’s next voiced Wade Load in both the Walt Disney TV Animation “Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time” and “Kim Possible: So the Drama” in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Between 2000 and 2004, Tahj was in a romantic relationship with the late Screen Actors Guild Award-winning American actress, model and singer, Naya Rivera, who was famously known for her appearance in the musical drama “Glee.” The duo met when they were kids on the set of the sitcom “Smart Guy” – Tahj confirmed that they were dating and that she was his first love, in his tribute to her after her demise. Naya was boating on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, with her son, Josey Dorsey, when she drowned in July 2020.
Tahj was also romantically linked with the American model and actress Aleisha Allen, who has been posing for TV ads since she was four, and is perhaps best known for her role in the kid’s TV series “Blue’s Clues.” Their relationship was short-lived for one year, 2006-2007. There are rumors that in 2013, Mowry was also in a relationship with the model, copywriter and make-up artist Erica Campo, who is of French and Filipino descent. Mowry shared their pictures on his social media accounts of them kissing while on a vacation in Bali. Erica appeared in the music videos for the American singer-songwriter Robin Thicke’s song “Magic”, and Donnie Klang’s song “Take You There.” The two ended their relationship in 2015, for unknown reasons.

Tahj previously gave People Magazine a tour of his house, revealing the lavish lifestyle he leads.
