Who is Lina Esco?
Lina Esco was born in Miami, Florida USA, on 14 May 1985 – her zodiac sign is Taurus and she holds American nationality. She is an actress, activist, film producer and director, who is perhaps still known best for her portrayal of a supporting character in the 2007 drama series “Cane”, created by Cynthia Cidre and which starred Jimmy Smits, Nestor Carbonell and Polly Walker. It follows a Latino family running a rum business, and the series won Jimmy Smits a nomination for an Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.

Is she married?
Lina is very secretive when it comes to her love life, and hasn’t spoken about any men or women she’s dated, however, it’s known that she was in a relationship with Fabrice Gautier in 2010, a licensed physical therapist and personal trainer with around 20 years of experience. The two allegedly dated for only a couple of months before splitting ways.
There are rumors circulating the internet claiming that Lina is lesbian or bisexual, and one of her fans has even claimed on Reddit that she’s seen Lina being rather too close to her female friend at a party, however, this hasn’t been confirmed.
Lina hasn’t mentioned anyone she could perhaps be seeing today, so as of February 2021, she is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Early life and education
Lina is very secretive when it comes to her family, and hasn’t shared any details with the public concerning her parents or any siblings she might have.
She attended a local high school in Miami, at which she was mostly interested in becoming a famous model, and upon matriculating in 2003, Lina moved to France to work as a model. She spent around a year in France, during which she also travelled to surrounding countries including England and Germany.
Upon returning to the US, Lina launched her acting career with her portrayal of Kelly in the 2005 romantic drama movie “London”, written and directed by Hunter Richards, and which starred Jessica Biel, Chris Evans and Jason Statham.
It follows a man trying to reconcile with his girlfriend at a party in New York, and won one and was nominated for one other award.
Lina hasn’t spoken about her further education, but it’s widely believed that she hasn’t attended college.
Roles in TV series
Lina made her debut TV series appearance in the 2006 episode “Live or Let Die” of the action crime drama “CSI: NY”, and the year 2008 saw her star as Elisa in the science fiction mini-series “Heroes: Destiny”, which also starred Omar Avila and Norma Maldonado, and follows the journey of Santiago, a new hero.
The year 2009 saw her make a guest appearance in one episode of two series: the comedy drama “Drop Dead Diva” and the mystery crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.
As she spent the following years appearing only in movies, her following role in a TV series came in 2016, when Lina was cast to play the supporting character Kara in the comedy drama “Flaked” which starred Will Arnett and David Sullivan, and follows a recovering alcoholic who determines to change his life after an accident. The same year saw Lina play Ava Flores in the drama “Kingdom”, which follows the life of a former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, as he balances between keeping his family together and running his own martial arts gym.
Lina’s most recent role in a TV series has been in the action adventure crime “S.W.A.T.”, in which she’s been starring as Christina ‘Chris’ Alonso since 2017.
The series also stars Shemar Moore and Alex Russell, and follows a S.W.A.T. sergeant and his carefully chosen team as they fight crime in Los Angeles, California. It’s been nominated for five awards, including two Primetime Emmys.
Roles in movies
In 2008, Lina starred as Marla in the short drama “The Evening Journey”, and in 2010 she appeared in the comedy “15 Minutes”, which follows two publicists ready to do whatever it takes to make their clients happy.
She went on to portray Lena Capriolini in the crime drama “Kingshighway”, and in 2011 she appeared in another crime drama – “Where the Road Meets the Sun” – written and directed by Mun Chee Young and which starred Eric Mabius, Will Yun Lee and Fernando Noriega.
It follows a man who ends up in a coma after a car accident, and the movie won five awards. Some of Lina’s following roles were in the 2011 drama “Low Fidelity”, the 2012 romantic comedy “LOL”, and the 2014 comedy drama “Free the Nipple”. In the same year, she played Gina in the drama “Open” which is about relationships and human sexuality, and in 2015, she starred as Mia Hendricks alongside Ethan Hawke in the action drama “Exit Strategy”.
Lina went on to star in the shorts “Tove Lo: Fairy Dust” and “The Lonely Whale”, and two of her most recent roles in movies have been in the 2018 romantic comedy “Porthole” and the 2019 crime comedy “Full-Dress”, neither of which attracted a lot of attention.
She has recently finished shooting for the upcoming science fiction “Doors”, set to be released on 23 March 2021.
In 2010, Lina made her producing debut with the short movie “The Cove: My Friend is…” and in 2014, she both wrote and produced the movie “Free the Nipple”, which aims to stop female nipple censorship in media. The movie motivated women to create the campaign Free the Nipple, which promotes sexual equality, and is today supported by many celebrities including Miley Cyrus and Courtney Love.
She has appeared in the talk-shows “SWAT on Set” and “Home & Family”, and is currently shooting for the upcoming documentary movie “I Am What’s Underneath”.
Lina has appeared in music videos of various artists such as Gwen Stefani’s “Southside”, Sinead O’Connor’s “Jealous” and Halos’ “Amalgam”.
She has appeared in commercials of various brands including Axe, and was showcased on the jewelry collection of Louis Vuitton for the 2011 Spring/Summer.
Hobbies and other interests
She is a philanthropist who has worked with various charity organizations, while she is today mostly focused on working with Dolphin Project, which has the goal of preventing the slaughter of dolphins. Lina has also fought to overturn the murder conviction of Cyntoia Brown.
She is a huge dog-lover, and her pet dog can be seen featured in many of her pictures and videos on Instagram.
Lina is physically active, and has three to four training sessions at the gym each week, while several pictures featuring her exercise can be found uploaded onto her Instagram account.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses some of whom are Heath Ledger, Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman, and a couple of her favorite movies are “The Brokeback Mountain”, “The Runaway Bride” and “Leon: The Professional”.
Lina is amongst the more than 80 women who have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment.
