Kyla Kenedy was born in Charleston, South Carolina USA, on 4 February 2003 – her zodiac sign is Aquarius, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress with close to 30 credits to her name, while she’s perhaps known best for her portrayal of Mika Samuels, in the horror thriller series “The Walking Dead”. It has been airing since 2010, was created by Frank Darabont and Angela Kang, and stars Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln and Melissa McBride. It follows Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes who has awoken from a coma, and has learned that the world has been overrun by zombies. Early life and education
Kyla was raised in Charleston by her parents, who prefer to be left out of the media’s attention, thus not a lot about them is known. She hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, and is thus believed to be an only child.
Kyla was somewhat thrown into the film industry, as her acting skills were noticed by her elementary school teacher, who advised her parents to take her to an audition. It was in 2011 aged eight, that her acting career was launched, with her portrayal of Fiona Chambliss, in the episode “Tell-Tale Hearts” of the mystery crime series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.
The following year saw her make her debut film appearance, with her portrayal of Sarah Weiland at Age 3 in the thriller “The Yellow Wallpaper”, and she also played Balloon Girl in the family comedy movie “The Three Stooges”, and the title character in the family movie “Raising Izzie”.
Kyla attended a local high school and was interested in sports, as she ran track and was on the school’s volleyball team. She was focused on acting throughout her entire education – she’s matriculated just recently in 2021, and it doesn’t appear that Kyla will be pursuing a college degree, but is going to focus on her acting career.
Roles in TV series
In 2012, Kyla was cast to play the supporting character Rebecca, in three episodes of the romantic comedy “The New Normal”, which starred Justin Bartha, Andrew Rannells and Georgia King, and follows a woman who has agreed to be a surrogate mother for two gay men.
The series won four of the 12 awards for which it was nominated.
The following two years saw her appear in an episode of the comedy “Adam Devine”, and the mystery crime drama “Rizzoli & Isles”, then in 2015, Kyla voiced Witch Girl, in an episode of the animated family fantasy “Doc McStuffins”. In 2016, she played the supporting character Brianna, in the romantic drama “The Night Shift”, created by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, and which starred Eoin Macken, Jill Flint and Brendan Fehr. It follows a group of Army doctors who have begun working the night shift at a San Antonio hospital; the series won three of the five awards for which it was nominated.
Between 2016 and 2019, Kyla starred as Dylan DiMeo, in the comedy “Speechless”, created by Scott Silveri, and which also starred Minnie Driver and John Ross Bowie.
It follows the life of a special-needs teenager and his family, and won four of the five awards for which it was nominated. In 2019, she made a guest in an episode of both the action crime drama “Chicago P. D.” and the drama “Chicago Med”, and in 2021, she played the supporting character Orly Bremer, in the first season of the comedy “Mr. Mayor” on NBC.

In 2013, Kyla played Young Sage in the mystery thriller “Hidden Away”, and the following years saw her play supporting characters in several other mediocre movies, such as the comedy “Reality”, and the shorts “We Make That Lemonade” and “Sarah’s Friend”.
The year 2015 saw her play her first lead character, Amanda, in the 2015 family drama “A Gift Horse”, written by Sean Huze, directed by Teddy Smith, and which also starred John Schneider and Candi Brooks. The movie follows a young girl who’s training a horse at a local ranch. Kyla’s amongst the most secretive of actresses, as she hasn’t spoken of any boys whom she has perhaps dated.
There are still rumors circulating the internet, concerning both her love life, as well as her sexual orientation.
Some believe that she was in a relationship with Jack Dylan Grazer, alongside whom she starred in the series “Speechless”. They were apparently seen spending time together off-set on multiple occasions, but both have claimed that they’re only good friends.
There are also those who claim that Kyla’s lesbian, and that this is why she hasn’t spoken of dating any boys. According to these rumors, she’s keeping her sexual orientation away from the media’s attention, because of how it might affect her acting career.
As of June 2021, Kyla seems to be single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
It was noticed by Kyla’s fans in 2019, that her nose looked a lot better than usual, and rumors began spreading the internet about her having undergone a nose job.
‘Before and after’ pictures were uploaded onto Reddit, and an entire thread was created to discuss the rumors. While some people defended Kyla by stating that she had undergone a surgery because of a medical condition, others criticized her for having undergone such a procedure at such an early age, and just to satisfy the Hollywood standards.
Kyla hasn’t commented on these rumors, nor confirmed that she’s undergone surgery.
Hobbies and other interests
Kyla’s a philanthropist, and has worked with various charity organizations and health institutions, including The Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, and Meals on Wheels.
She likes to travel, and her acting career has taken her to various US states, while her dream travel destination is Miami in Florida. Kyla’s today residing in Los Angeles, California, and has fallen in love with the city.
She’s a lover of all animals, with cats being her favorites – she had two pet cats while growing up.
Kyla prefers to spend her spare time outdoors, rather than to stay within four walls, and enjoys being physically active; she occasionally plays tennis and golf with her friends.
