Who Is Dashie?
Dashie, whose real name is Charlie Guzman, is a YouTuber, comedian, and social media influencer, who was born on 11 June 1985 in the Dominican Republic. His family moved to the US when he was a child, establishing themselves in Florida. Dashie’s sister and brother have also appeared in some of his vlogs, but not much is known about them either.
Dashie speaks Spanish, as seen in many of his videos, including the “Dominican Dad” series, which also introduced his father to his audiences. Though not much is known about Dashie’s family, in February 2010 he revealed that his mother had sadly passed away.
Dashie had his beginnings on YouTube in the late 2000s when he started sharing comedy skits on his now-abandoned channel “Dashie”, since when he’s gained a loyal and massive following which chooses between his comedy videos and his gaming content.
Rise To Fame
He opened his first channel Dashie in 2006, sharing comedy videos on a variety of topics before eventually abandoning it. His second channel DashieXP was started in 2009, following the steps of comedian and YouTuber Tim Chantarangsu, whom Dashie considers one of his inspirations.
Back then, Dashie worked at a supermarket and at a retailer at the same time, to save money and move to a place of his own, while also making music and filming comedy videos based on viral trends. His creativity and good sense of humor eventually attracted a considerable number of people to his channel, leading him to start his third channel, DashieGames in 2011.
Although Dashie was an experienced gamer at the time, the idea of starting a gaming channel came from his fellow YouTuber Jesse Wellens, who told him that he had the type of personality and sense of humor to create videos in that niche.
Slowly but surely Dashie became an internet sensation, and was eventually able to quit his job with the earnings he received from YouTube. However, Dashie has affirmed that his initial intention wasn’t to become famous or gain money with his content, but to have fun.
Social Media Presence
The social media presence of Dashie has extended to platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, Twitter (now X), and Twitch, on which he has millions of followers combined.
Nonetheless, YouTube remains his most popular platform, with his channel DashieGames as the most successful one with over 6.5 million subscribers to this day. Dashie’s most popular content is his gameplay videos of the Mario Bros franchise, but he’s admitted to preferring horror games such as “Resident Evil”.
Besides that, he also has the channel DashieXP2, on which he shares vlogs and other content that doesn’t fit in his gaming and comedy channels. His side channels DashieXP and DashieXP2 also have a huge following, counting four million subscribers combined.
Besides his internet content, Dashie is also available for public appearances, and has even launched a collectible action figure of himself. He has also worked alongside the “Transformers” franchise to voice the character Menasor for the company’s projects “Combiner Wars”, “Titans Return” and “Power Of The Primes”.

Health
Dashie has been sharing content on the internet for over a decade now, thus his audiences have been on his side not only as his content evolved, but also as his appearance slowly changed. His weight loss is the topic most commented on when it comes to his looks, leaving Dashie no option but to address it several times on his social media and YouTube videos.
As he revealed in a question-and-answer video, in 2020 he went to a routine health check only to find out that he had ‘fat on the liver’, and was advised to lose weight to recover from it. As Dashie recalled, he went to his house right away and threw all the food he thought could be causing him health issues, on top of starting a disciplined routine of intermittent fasting and daily exercises.
Also, in the “No Chaser” podcast, he admitted that his health scare was eye-opening in the sense that, before that incident, he hadn’t cared to follow his diets and exercise routines very seriously.
Personal Life
Given how careful Dashie is about his personal life, he doesn’t reveal much about his romantic endeavors. However, for the longest time, his audience believed that he had a girlfriend named Tina, as he said the name out loud several times in his videos.
Nonetheless, Tina wasn’t Dashie’s girlfriend but a fictional character he made up as a joke. It all started with his habit of using similar-sounding words at the end of the game titles he was playing. There was a time when he was playing the wrestling video “WWE ‘13” and said ‘tina’ after the title, followed by a gesture which was interpreted by many as him being sad at something.
Following that incident, his audience started theorizing that there was someone in his life named Tina, who was possibly his girlfriend or ex-girlfriend. Dashie noticed the uproar that his joke caused and simply rolled with it, never caring to clear up the mystery to his audience until 2022, when he was interviewed with the “No Chaser” podcast, and revealed all about his ‘Tina’ joke.
Other than ‘Tina’, Dashie hasn’t been involved in any other romantic rumors.

Dashie is a man of mixed ethnicity. He is 5ft 5ins (1.65m) tall, and has brown eyes. Given his habit of wearing hats, hoodies and caps, his audience has long wondered what the appearance of his hair is, as yet to no avail.
