What Is Erin Ryder Doing Now?
Those who knew Erin Ryder through her appearances in “Chasing UFOs” might have been missing her on TV for a some time. However, the good news is that Erin is not only still active in the entertainment industry but has appeared in several mystery-related media since the aforementioned show aired in 2012.
One of those is “In Search of Monsters” from 2019. The show took Erin and her co-stars through several adventures to catch myth-worthy monsters by using logic, hints, and eyewitness stories. Erin has also recently appeared in the mystery-related podcasts “The Drew Carson Show” and “Kinda Murdery”.
Besides her career as a TV personality, Erin is also a director, producer, and adventurer. The latter is a hobby she takes very seriously, to the point she hcompeted in the Ultimate Explorer Wildcard Competition, an event organized by the website Ultimate Explorer to collect funds for the National Park Foundation in 2024. Although not winning, Erin came very close to it by placing second thanks to her followers’ votes.
As seen in Erin’s social media, she enjoys trips with her loved ones, and also describes herself as a ‘sports fanatic’.

Beginnings
Erin Ryder was born in August 1980 in New York, USA. She studied at the Cortland-based State University of New York, from where she graduated with a Communication and Computer Applications degree, with honors in 2002. During her time at the university, Erin became a national champion in hockey too According to her website, Erin also has a Masters degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, where she studied television and film.
Erin’s earliest credited job in the entertainment industry was as a stage manager in the “The X Games” miniseries,1997. She was also a production assistant of the “Date Patrol” TV series throughout 2003 and 2004, and round that tim, Erin also worked as a field producer of Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?”, a series focused on the highly stressful lives of wedding planners and their clients.
During the early 2000s, Erin split her time working with several productions in Hollywood, holding positions such as production co-ordinator and manager, sound mixer, and associate. Some of the most important titles on her professional entertainment profile from those days include the “Olympic Games Athens 2004”, and “The 32nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” in 2005.
Rise to Fame
It wasn’t until late in that decade that Erin Ryder’s career sxpanded to more important jobs in the industry. This change came with the reality show “Destination Truth” in 2008, in which she made her first on-screen appearance as a researcher for three years. She also appeared in the special episode “Destination Truth 2.5”.
Following that experience, Erin joined the cast of National Geographic’s “Chasing UFOs” in 2012. This show saw Erin and her co-hosts Ben McGee and James Fox investigating unexplained, potentially alien-related events and mysteries. The show lasted for just one eight-episode season, but gained Erin interviews on talk shows such as “Access Daily” and “Spacing Out!”.
While “Chasing UFOs” was followed by a lack of on-screen appearances for a couple of years, Erin was still working behind the scenes as an executive and supervising producer for shows such as “World’s Worst Tenants”, “True Supernatural” and “Ghost Asylum”. However, one of her most important jobs to date has been as a producer of the Nickelodeon series “Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life” for the entirety of its run on TV in late 2016 and early 2017.
Also in 2016, Erin resumed her on-screen appearances in “Myth Explorer”, an online series filmed in the Indian Oceang set to promote the film “Skull Island: Reign of Kong”, produced by Universal Studios, and promoted by SyFy and NBC.
Other Projects
The year 2019 saw Erin Ryderg be cmoming involved with several important projects. Firstly, she starred in the mystery-solving series “In Search of Monsters” as an investigative journalist. She also produced “The Other Half”, an online series for Facebook Watch which focused on the stories of several female football players and their impact on the field and other players. “The Other Half” was more than just a sport-centered production, as the series also explored the life conditions of refugee football.
On top of that, Erin was involved in other sports-related productions for Amazon Prime Video, such as “Thursday Night Football”, plus being in charge of the YouTube series “Challenge Accepted”.
On her website, Erin describes herself as a ‘lifelong activist’ and ‘advocate for equality’, on top of being an adventurer and photographer.
All in all, Erin’s professional experience on TV is highly impressive, but it’s also great to see someone who succeeds at so many things in life by empowering herself with passion and hard work.
