She became interested in acting at an early age, and began performing in local productions and summer stock theater at 13 years old. After high school, she enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, from which she obtained a degree in European History; during her studies, Becki spent several semesters abroad.
Career Beginnings
Following graduation, Becki moved to New York City to pursue a career on Broadway; she booked dozens of national commercials and a minor role in the television series “Cold Case” in 2003.
She kept her career alive with minor roles in such TV series as the long-running soap opera “Guiding Light” (2003-2004), then in 2004, she appeared in several projects, including the eponymous TV procedural crime-drama series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” in which she portrayed Colleen Heaton. Then, she was Mindy in the Primetime Emmy Award-winning historical comedy-drama series “American Dreams”, with Gail O’Grady, Tom Verica and Brittany Show in the lead roles.
