Who is Steve Lund?

Canadian actor Steve Lund was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on 9 January 1989, so his zodiac sign’s Capricorn. He’s appeared in nearly 50 movies and TV series, and is perhaps best known for playing the lead character Mitch in the 2019 action horror comedy “The Banana Splits Movie”, directed by Danishka Esterhazy, and which also starred Dani Kind and Celina Martin. It follows a family who’ve been invited to attend a live taping of the show “The Banana Splits”, and now have to run for their lives as the characters have begun killing everyone in the studio.

Education and early life

Steve and his sisters Coco and Chelsa Lund were raised in Halifax by their parents Mike and Linda of Italian descent; Steve rarely speaks about his family in public, as they prefer to maintain their privacy.

He grew up being interested in ice hockey, and played for the P. E. I. Rockets of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Steve studied at a local high school, and became interested in acting at the age of 17, then started taking acting classes in Vancouver.

He matriculated in 2007 and then chose to pursue acting rather than a college degree.

Steve made his debut film appearance in the 2009 short horror “End of Message”, and some of his following roles were in the 2010 short action “The Dunwich Horror”, the 2013 short action comedy “The Golden Ticket” and the 2014 romantic comedy “Best Christmas Party Ever”.

In 2018, Steve played Sean Peyton in the comedy “Secret Millionaire”, and the same year saw him star as Tyler in the short drama “Affection”. He portrayed Casper Van Dien in the 2019 crime drama “Escaping the NXIVM Cult: A Mother’s Fight to Save Her Daughter”, directed by Lisa Robinson, and which starred Andrea Roth, Jasper Polish and Sara Fletcher. It follows a mother who’s ready to do whatever it takes to save her daughter from a cult; the film was nominated for five awards.

Steve’s three most recent movie roles have been in the 2021 romantic comedy “Single All the Way”, the 2022 romantic comedy “Six Degree of Santa” and another 2022 romantic comedy “Christmas Bedtime Stories”; he’s currently shooting for the upcoming movie “Who’s Yer Father?”

Roles in TV series

Steve’s debut TV series role was playing the main character Stewart in all 13 episodes of the adventure drama “Yukonic!”, which also starred Chad Krowchuk and Lara Gilchrist, and follows moviemakers Stewart and Dalton as they’re searching for gold in Yukon, Canada.

The following years saw Steve appear in an episode of the action science fiction “Alphas”, the adventure comedy “Being Erica” and the action fantasy “Lost Girl”. From 2012 through 2015, he played the supporting character Colorado Kid – aka James Cogan – in the critically acclaimed crime fantasy “Haven”, created by Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst, and which starred Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour. It follows FBI agent Audrey Parker as he’s investigating the curse of people living in the city of Haven, Maine, the series aired from 2010 through 2015 and won one of its 18 award nominations.

Steve could then have been seen playing Nick Sorrentino in all the 33 episodes of the fantasy horror “Bitten” from 2014 through 2016, Kevin in the 2017 episode “Without Magic for a Spell” of the fantasy comedy “Good Witch”, and Luc Narcisse in eight episodes of the 2017 drama “Reign”.

From 2016 through 2020, he portrayed Jake in the popular comedy “Schitt’s Creek”, which Eugene and Dan Levy created, as well as starring in. It follows Johnny Rose and his family who’ve been robbed of their wealth overnight, and have moved to Schitt’s Creek as they still own a business there; the series aired from 2015 through 2020, and won 124 of its 288 award nominations.

Most recently, in 2022, Steve portrayed Jack Hudson in the episode “Punch Drunk Glove” of the crime mystery “Hudson & Rex”.

Other credits

Steve sang the song “O Come, All Ye Faithful” in the 2021 family fantasy movie “A Mrs Miracle Christmas”.

He’s made a guest appearance in talk-shows “Katie Chats”, “Jus’Cos” and “Home & Family”.

Love life and spouse

Steve prefers not to share the details of his love life with his fans, and hasn’t spoken of the women, or perhaps men whom he’s dated. Many websites have reported that Steve’s married to Kalleen Kirk, mistaking him for the 68 years old businessman Steve J. Lund.

Some of his fans have claimed to have seen him spending time in Vancouver with a man who could perhaps be his boyfriend, but Steve hasn’t addressed the rumors.
