Who is Tiya Sircar?
Tiya Sircar was born in Arlington, Texas USA, on 16 May 1982 – her zodiac sign is Taurus, she holds American nationality and is of Indian descent. She is an actress, who is perhaps known best for her portrayal of Vicky in the fantasy comedy series “The Good Place” created by Michael Schur and which starred Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper and Jameela Jamil. It follows four friends who are having a hard time defining the meaning of being good. The series aired from 2016 to 2020 and won 25 awards, while it was nominated for 118 others including two Golden Globes.
Early life and education
Tiya was raised alongside her older sister Priya in Arlington, by their parents who are both college professors, and have helped the girls fall in love with the arts.
Tiya was three when she took on dancing – she first learned traditional Indian dance before moving on to ballet, jazz and modern. She was seven when she attended an acting class, and instantly fell in love with it. Tiya practiced her acting skills with her high school’s drama club as well as at a community theater, and upon matriculating in 2000, she enrolled at the University of Texas, Austin, obtaining two Bachelor’s degrees: one in theatre and dance and the other in business and marketing in 2004.
After graduating, Tiya moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career.

Tiya made her debut film appearance with her portrayal of Indian Dancer in the 2005 short fantasy “Heavenly Beauties”, and her first feature film was the 2006 romantic horror comedy “The Insatiable”, which starred Sean Patrick Flanery.
Her following notable performance was in the 2009 science fiction comedy “Hotel for Dogs”, which starred Emma Roberts and Lisa Kudrow, and follows two children as they let stray dogs stay in an abandoned hotel; the movie was nominated for four awards, winning two. In the same year, Tiya portrayed Samantha in the critically acclaimed fantasy comedy “17 Again”, which starred Zac Efron and Matthew Perry, and follows Mike O’Donnell, a man in his 40s who has passed through a time portal, and is now 17 again.

Tiya made her debut TV series appearance in 2007, when cast to voice a character in a single episode of the animated comedy “Acceptable”, and the following years saw her appear in single episodes of various series, such as the mystery crime drama “Numb3rs”, the comedy “Privileged”, and the sports drama “Make It or Break It”.
Her first notable performance was in 2010, when she portrayed Aime Bradley in three episodes of the fantasy horror “The Vampire Diaries”, which starred Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, and follows a girl who falls in love with two vampire brothers.

Tiya is very secretive when it comes to her love life, and hasn’t spoken about any men she might have dated since the launch of her career. It is widely believed that she is looking for a man of Indian descent as well, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
There have been rumors circulating the internet that Tiya is perhaps in a relationship with the popular actor Zach Braff, alongside whom she starred in the series “Alex, Inc.”.
The two are married in the series and also have a daughter, and because they seem so close in the show, their fans have started to believe that there might be something going on between the two in real life as well. Tiya and Zach have denied these rumors, stating that they are only close friends.
Tiya hasn’t mentioned anyone she could be dating today, so as of January 2021, she is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Tiya has been interested in languages since a very early age, and is fluent in Bengali.
She is a huge lover of dogs, and has two which can be seen featured in many of her Instagram pictures. Tiya had another pet dog called Vegas which would’ve been 16 years old today.
She is a supporter of the movement Black Lives Matter, and has walked several peaceful protests.
Tiya believes it should be obligatory for every person to vote, and has used her Instagram fame to urge people to use their right to vote.
She is keen on travelling, and has been all around the US to shoot for her movies and TV series, and has also been to various Asian countries, while she visits her relatives in India at least once a year.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Shahrukh Khan, Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz, and a couple of her favorite movies are “My Name Is Khan”, “Vanilla Sky” and “Everybody Knows”.
