Who is Jim Toth?
James Joseph ‘Jim’ Toth was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania USA, in 1970 – he hasn’t disclosed his exact date of birth, but his zodiac sign is said to be Sagittarius, and he holds American nationality. He’s a talent agent, but who’s probably known best for being the husband of Reese Witherspoon, a famous American actress, film producer and businesswoman.
Early life and education
Jim was raised in Aliquippa by his father Jimmy Joe Toth – who died after a long fight against cancer – and his mother who’s a housewife. Jim hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, and is thus believed to be an only child.
He attended a local high school at which he was mostly focused on playing football for the school’s team, but his skills weren’t good enough for a scholarship.
Jim was also interested in acting, and appeared in a couple of plays performed at the school; upon matriculating in 1988, he enrolled at Loyola Marymount University, from which he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in political science and government in 1992.
Jim’s career
In 1995, Jim joined Creative Artists Agency as a senior talent agent, and held the job until April 2019 counting 23 years and six months. From April 2019 to October 2020, he worked as head of content acquisitions and talent at Quibi, and from July 2013 to January 2021, Jim was on the board of directors of Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA).
He founded Draper James in December 2013 and has since been working at the company, while since January 2014, Jim’s been on the board of trustees of the Just Keep Livin Foundation. He’s has been on the board of trustees of Providence St Johns Medical Center Foundation since March 2016, while the same month saw him found the company Hello Sunshine. Since March 2019, he has been on the board of trustees of Loyola Marymount University, and in January 2021, he became an advisory board member of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Board of Overseers.
Love life and marriage with Reese Witherspoon
It was reported in February 2010 that Jim was in a relationship with Reese Witherspoon, but the two didn’t confirm the rumors until December of the same year, when actually they announced their engagement.
They exchanged vows in front of their wide circle of friends and family members on 26 March 2011, at Witherspoon’s former country estate Libbey Ranch in Ojai, California, which she sold not long after the ceremony. On 27 September 2012, she gave birth to their son Tennessee James Toth, and the family of three seems to be leading a happy life together as of April 2021.
In 2013, Reese was charged with disorderly conduct after Jim was stopped by a police officer under the suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was only ordered to pay court costs.
Jim hasn’t spoken of any other women whom he had perhaps dated before meeting Reese, while it’s known that she was married to the American actor Matthew Ryan Phillippe from 5 June 1999 to 2007, and was also once in a relationship with the famous American actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Jim was physically quite active in his 20s and 30s, as he had several training sessions at the gym each week and occasionally played basketball with his friends.

Reese was raised in New Orleans alongside her brother John D. by their father John Draper Witherspoon who’s a retired otolaryngologist, and their mother Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Witherspoon who holds two college degrees and a PhD in pediatric nursing.
