A singer and actress with over 40 acting credits to her name, Chelsea Tavares is perhaps known best for her role as Patience in the sports drama series “All American“, however, she is also well-known for her role as Cranberry in Nickelodeon’s family comedy “Unfabuluous” which brought her and her co-stars four nominations for the Young Artist Award-Outstanding Young Performers in a TV Series.

Early life, family, and education

Born Chelsea Royce Tavares under the zodiac sign of Virgo on 22 September 1991, she’s aged 31 (as of January 2023). She hails from Panorama City, Los Angeles, California USA, and holds American nationality. There is nothing known about her parents, except that they have Brava, Cape Verde heritage.

Chelsea has a sister, namely Kylee Russell, also an actress, probably known best for her role as Karin Daniels in the 2007 movie “Jump In”.

Chelsea made her big-screen debut as Natasia in the 2007 teenage comedy “Crush on U”. Two years later, she was seen in the TV movie “Kid Edition”, followed by her role as Cara in the 2011 movie “Fright Night”.

Many critics say that Chelsea’s most notable movie role was her portrayal of Jasmine in the 2018 movie “Solace”. This drama told the story of a 17-year-old girl who is sent to live with her estranged family after her father’s death, and finds solace in a dubious friendship with a self-destructive neighbor, leading them both on a surprising journey of self-discovery. Chelsea and her co-stars from the movie won the Los Angeles Film Festival Award for Best Ensemble Cast.

Most recently, Chelsea was seen as Grace in the 2021 musical family drama “Bart Bagalzby and the Garbage Genie”, also starring Creed Bratton, Alison Woods and Kevin P. Farley.

Love life and husband

Like many celebrities, Chelsea has been the subject of various rumors concerning her love life, but has managed to keep it under wraps. There is nothing known about her previous relationships before she met her current partner, Joshua Bowen, who’s a non-celebrity, and is only known as the boyfriend of the actress. They began dating back in 2015, and although many tabloids wrote about him as Chelsea’s husband, the two have neither confirmed nor denied the rumor about their allegedly secret wedding.

On 1 February 2021, Chelsea and Joshua welcomed their son, named Koden Stone Bowen, whose photos Chelsea often shares with her Instagram followers.
