Who is Darby Camp?

Darby Eliza Camp was born in Charlotte, North Carolina USA, on 14 July 2007 – her zodiac sign is Cancer, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress with 19 credits to her name, probably known best for her portrayal of Kate, one of the lead characters in the 2020 family adventure comedy movie “The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two”, written and directed by Chris Columbus, also starred Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, and follows Kate Pierce who has been reunited with Santa Claus, and have to stop a troublemaker who’s trying to cancel Christmas. She portrayed the same character in the movie’s first part in 2018.

Early life, parents and education

Darby was raised in Charlotte alongside her older sister Ruthie Camp, by their mother Lacy Camp who’s a popular actress, and their father Clark Camp who prefers to be left out of media.

Darby’s sister is also an actress, and their mother supported Darby to become part of the film industry, so the three started attending auditions together, and Darby’s acting career began in 2013, aged six, with her portrayal of Screaming Child 2, in the episode “The Costume Party” of the comedy series “Door to Door”. This was a launch pad for her career, and Darby then began practicing her acting skills at a local school for the performing arts.

She has just recently, in 2021, enrolled at high school, and some believe that Darby might switch to being home-schooled, so as to have more time to focus on acting.

Roles in TV series

In 2014, Darby made a guest appearance as Daisy Bowen, in the episode “Desperate Housewife” of the comedy drama “Drop Dead Diva”, and in 2015, she appeared in the episode “International Assassin” of the mystery fantasy drama “The Leftovers”, as well as in its 2017 episode “The Book of Kevin”.

It follows two young boys who have befriended an orphaned puppy called Benji, which then goes on to save the boys from their kidnappers.

The year 2019 saw Darby appear in both the drama “When We Last Spoke” and the thriller “Dreamland”, and she also starred in the short drama “Bach ‘n’ Roll”, and most recently in 2021, she played the main character Young Gia in the thriller “Calm Before”, but which received poor reviews.

Darby’s currently shooting and recording for two upcoming movies: the short drama “3:35 to Boston”, and the animated adventure comedy “Clifford the Big Red Dog”.

Friends and relationships

It’s widely believed that Darby’s still too young to be dating, and she hasn’t spoken of any boys (or girls) whom she might have dated, or has even had a crush on. However, there are still a couple of her fans who claim that she was in a short-term relationship with Gabriel Bateman, an American child actor alongside whom she starred in the movie “Benji”.

The two were seen spending some time together off-set, but it’s still widely believed that they were, and still are, only good friends.

Darby’s a highly social girl, and apparently has numerous friends. She seems to prefer to spend her time with those a bit older than her, as she believes she’s a bit more mature than her peers.

As of May 2021, Darby seems to be single.
