He is an actor and film producer, who is perhaps known best for his portrayal of Mr. Delmar in the 2017 action adventure science fiction movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, written by Jonathan Goldstein, directed by Jon Watts, and which starred Tom Holland, Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. It follows Peter Parker as he tries to balance his life as a high school student, and that of the superhero Spider-Man. The movie won seven and was nominated for 10 other awards.
Early life, family and education
Hemky was born in Queens only because his mother Gisela Madera came there to visit her relatives, and then went with her and his father Luis back to Santiago in the Dominican Republic. He has no siblings.
Hemky became interested in acting while attending a high school in Santiago, and upon matriculating in 1995, he enrolled at a college from which he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre in 1999. Hemky launched his acting career while attending college, as he portrayed Luis in the drama mini-series “En la Olla”, and in 1999 he appeared in two other mini-series – “Un Asalto en la Lincoln” and “Trio en Alta Mar”. Following graduation, he decided to move to New York City to work on his acting career.

His debut film appearance was in the 2000 short drama “The Bookie’s Lament”, and in 2003 he portrayed a young revolutionary in the comedy drama “Cuban Blood”.
Hemky gained recognition in 2005, after he portrayed Miliciano in the romantic drama “The Lost City”, directed by Andy Garcia who also starred in it alongside Ines Sastre and Bill Murray. The film follows the owner of an Havana club and his family during the Marxist revolution in ‘50s Cuba, and was nominated for five awards winning two.
The year 2007 saw him appear in the drama “Yuniol” while a couple of Hemky’s following roles were in the 2008 sports comedy “Playball”, the 2009 crime drama “La Soga”, and the 2010 fantasy thriller “King of the Avenue”. Hemky appeared in an episode or two of various series until 2008, when he was cast to portray the supporting character Ignacio in the critically acclaimed crime comedy “Weeds”, which starred Mary-Louise Parker and Hunter Parrish, and follows a mother who starts selling marijuana after her husband’s death. It aired from 2005 to 2012. and won 15 awards including one Golden Globe while it was nominated for 99 other awards.
In 2011, Hemky was cast to star as Carlos Saldana in the action drama “Caribe Road”, but which attracted little attention and received mixed reviews. In 2015, he portrayed Bruno in the action fantasy comedy “Ash vs Evil Dead”, which starred Bruce Campbell, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo, and follows a man who has been acting irresponsibly for the past three decades and now has to help save humanity from the Deadite Plague.

The family of four seems to be leading a happy life together in New York City.
Jesse Lynn Madera is a singer and songwriter, who has been praised for her skills while one American magazine has written about her having ‘an astounding ability to blend pop, Americana, jazz, and soul’. She is very active on Instagram, and is followed by more than 5,000 people while she’s uploaded over 1,750 pictures.
Hemky hasn’t talked about any other women he might had dated before Jesse, and as of February 2021, he’s married and has two sons.
Hobbies and other interests
Hemky is keen on travelling, and has been to many US states together with his wife, as she’s a fan of travelling as well. The two have also vacationed in Europe together, and stayed in several countries including England and Italy.
