Who is Julia Schlaepfer?
Julia Schlaepfer was born in Bellevue, Washington State USA, on 3 March 1995 – her zodiac sign is Pisces and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, perhaps known best for her portrayal of Alice Charles in the 2019 comedy drama series “The Politician”, created by Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, and which stars Ben Platt, Zoey Deutch and Lucy Boynton. It follows the life of Payton Hobart from Santa Barbara, who has known since he was seven that he will one day become the President of the United States of America, however, he first has to matriculate from Saint Sebastian High School.
The series is quite popular and has won two awards, while it’s been nominated for 14 others, including two Golden Globes.
Early life and education
Julia was raised in Bellevue alongside her brothers Christopher, ‘Chris’ and Andrew Schlaepfer, by their father Phil who is believed to be a theatre actor, and their mother Lesli who is a housewife.
She grew up being interested in acting, dancing and singing, and took on dancing lessons aged five. Julia was ten when her teacher asked her if she wanted to appear in the school play “The Nutcracker”, and with that performance, she became addicted to acting and decided it was something she wanted to do on a daily basis.
Julia studied at Atlantic Acting School, and also practiced dancing at San Francisco Ballet School; upon matriculating in 2013, she enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, from which she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre in 2017.
Career as an actress
Julia has only four acting credits to her name. She made her debut TV series appearance in the 2017 episode “Good Bones” of the drama “Madam Secretary”, created by Barbara Hall and which starred Tea Leoni, Tim Daly and Erich Bergen. It follows the life of the Secretary of State as she is trying to balance her professional life with her personal life.
It aired from 2014 to 2019 and won two awards of the nine it was nominated for.
In 2018, Julia played Maggie Fallon in the episode “Heartless” of the mystery crime drama series “Instinct”, created by Michael Rauch, and which starred Alan Cumming, Daniel Ings and Bojana Novakovic. It follows an ex-CIA agent who has been leading a peaceful life as a writer and professor, before returning to CIA when asked for help catch a serial killer. It aired from 2018 to 2019.
Her only other credit besides the series “The Politician” was also her debut film appearance, in the 2018 biographical crime drama “Charlie Says”, written by Guinevere Turner based on the book “The Family” by Ed Sanders, and directed by Mary Harron.
The film starred Hannah Murray, Matt Smith and Sosie Bacon, and follows an American girl who became a killer in 1969. The movie won Mary Harron a nomination for a Venice Horizons Award for Best Film.

In 2019, Julia made a guest appearance in the musical show “Total Request Live”, which starred Carson Daly, Chris Sabella and Damien Fahey, and each episode of the 857 aired shows top ten musical videos of the day, while often featuring various popular singers. It aired from 1998 to 2019, although receiving mixed reviews.
She went on to appear in an episode of the news talk-show “Celebrity Page”, which has been airing since 2013 numbering around 1,120 episodes today, despite receiving some poor reviews.
