Maxwell Acee Donovan is an American TV and film actor, who’s probably best known for his appearances in the TV series’ “That ‘90s Show” and “Gabby Duran & The Unsittables.”

Maxwell Acee ‘Max’ Donovan hails from Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and was born under the Taurus zodiac sign on 14 May 2005. He’s the son of Brent Donovan and Erin Acee Donovan, who’s an archeologist, and is of Greek, Scottish, Lebanese, and Irish roots. He grew up very interested in American Football – his childhood dream was to play in the National Football League (NFL) when he grew up. Donovan is the younger brother of “The Gifted” and “Poor George” actress, Clare Margaret Donovan.

Donovan is an outdoorsy person, whose favorite activities include hiking, camping and swimming. He also loves fishing together with his grandfather, and hanging out with his friends.

Donovan’s favorite filmmaker is Quentin Tarantino. Moreover, he’s a fan of “Star Wars” and Marvel, and some of his best-loved actors are Chris Pratt and Ryan Reynolds. Maxwell made his TV debut in the Nickelodeon TV series “The Thundermans,” in which he portrayed Mervis in two episodes in 2014 and 2016. In 2015, he played an uncredited role in the Disney channel TV sitcom “Bunk’d.” Subsequently, he played minor roles in six films, including the Miles Teller, Jonah Hill and Bradley Cooper-starred black comedy crime movie, “War Dog” in 2016.

One of Maxwelll’s most iconic roles came in 2019, when he was cast as Havensburg Junior High student and Gabby’s best friend portrayed by Kylie Cantrall, Wesley Presley in Disney Channel’s sci-fi comedy “Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.” The series, which is based on an eponymous novel by Daryle Conners and Elise Allen, follows a 13-year-old girl named Gabby, who after being shadowed by her sister and mother, begins living a new, adventurous life when she begins babysitting extraterrestrial children secretly living on Earth. Maxwell appeared in 41 episodes (2019-2021) and shared the screen with the likes of Cantrall, Coco Christo, Callan Farris and Elle Christo, among others. In 2020, Maxwell reprised his role in four episodes of the TV miniseries “Gabby Duran and the Unsittables: Baby Sitting 101”.

Maxwell next played Kyle in an episode of the TV series “Station 19” in 2023, and in the same year, he landed his career-defining role of Nate in the Netflix teen sitcom “That ‘90s Show,” which is set in the mid-‘90s, and is about Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), the teen daughter of Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), and Eric Forman (Topher Grace), who form bonds with several other teenagers while spending the 1995 summer in Point Place with her grandparents Kitty (played by Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (portrayed by Kurtwood Smith). Maxwell appeared in 10 episodes.

On top of his acting career, Maxwell has participated in the YouTube web series “Road to Healing” with his sister, Clare. In early 2023, Donovan teamed up with his sister to create the non-profit environment conservation firm, Nature’s Negotiators, whose mission is to ‘save one ecosystem at a time and make those changes sustainable.’ His organization has worked with a few other non-profit foundations, such as The Jane Goodall Institute (on their Roots and Shoots Youth program).

The pair often post their photos on their respective social media platforms, mostly captioned with heartwarming messages – in December 2022, they celebrated their 12-month anniversary, and on the 23rd of that month, Max posted the photos of the events, proclaiming his love for her in the captions.

Donovan is very close to his grandfather; in an interview with “Distractify,” the young actor disclosed that his grandpa gifted him his Ford F-150 on the occasion of his 16th birthday. Donovan is also very close to his parents, who gave him the nickname ‘Mad Max’ – in an interview with “Just Jared Jr,” Max disclosed that his mother thinks that the nickname is funny, whereas his father thinks that it’s cool.
