Who is Miguel Herrán?

Miguel Herrán was born in Malaga, Andalusia, Spain, on 25 April 1996 – his zodiac sign is Taurus, and he holds Spanish nationality. He’s an actor and a social media star, who’s most likely known best for his portrayal of the lead character Dario, in the 2015 drama movie “Nothing in Return” (original “A Cambio de Nada”). It was written and directed by Daniel Guzman, also starred Antonio Bachiller and Antonia Guzman, and follows Dario who’s 16 years old, and has run away from home. The movie was a hit, winning 12 of the 26 awards for which it was nominated.

This was also Miguel’s first role, launching his career as an actor.

Early life and education

Miguel was raised in Malaga by his parents Manuel Herran and Belen De La-Herran, about whom nothing’s known, as Miguel respects their privacy. He hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, but it’s believed that he has a sister named Antonia, and that she’s also an actress.

Miguel became interested in sports while attending a local elementary school, mostly in soccer, the most popular European sport. He played it during his time at both elementary and later high school, and had no plans for pursing an acting career. Miguel matriculated in 2014, and then chose to find work to financially support himself, and didn’t enroll at a college.

Several months after matriculating, Miguel was walking in the streets of Malaga when he was noticed by the film director and actor Daniel Guzman. He invited Miguel to an audition, at which Miguel then won the lead role of Dario in the above mentioned movie.

Roles in movies

Miguel has appeared in seven movies, including “Nothing in Return”. In 2016, he was cast to star as Auxiliar de Direccion in the short family drama “Nomeolvides” (“Forget-me-nots”), and the same year saw him play Soldado Carvajal in the historical war drama “1898: Our Last Men in the Philippines”.

It was written by Alejandro Hernandez, directed by Salvador Calvo, and starred Luis Tosar, Javier Gutierrez and Alvaro Cervantes. It follows a group of soldiers trapped inside a church – the movie won one of the 17 awards for which it was nominated.

In 2017, he portrayed Miguel Angel in the crime thriller “The Invisible Guardian”, which follows a female inspector who’s trying to catch a serial killer; it ‘won’ a Yoga Special Award for Worst Film Produced by a TV Network. The following year saw him play Ray in the science fiction comedy “Some Time Later”, as well as Borja in the drama “Alegria, Tristeza” (“Happiness, Sadness”).

Miguel’s only other movie role has been his portrayal of the main character Angel, in the 2020 action crime adventure “Sky High” (original “Hasta el Cielo”). It was written by Jorge Guerricaechevarria, directed by Daniel Calparsoro, and also starred Carolina Yuste and Asia Ortega. Love life and relationships

Miguel’s more or less secretive when it comes to his love life, and has spoken of only a single girl whom he has dated. Sometime in the second half of the 2010s, he began dating Sandra Escacena, a Spanish actress with eight credits to her name, probably known best for having starred as Veronica, in the eponymous 2017 horror movie, winning two awards for her performance. She and Miguel uploaded many pictures featuring themselves together onto their Instagram accounts, and could’ve been seen attending some of their red carpet events together. They were together for around a year before splitting for unknown reasons.
