Sara was raised alongside her sister Carly Waisglass in Toronto, by their father Jeff and mother Tess Waisglass; she rarely speaks about her family in public, as she respects their privacy.

She became interested in acting at the age of six, mostly because she often watched TV with her parents. In 2009 and 2010, Sara played Jordy Cooper in the family drama “Overruled!”, created by Jeff Biederman and Jeff Schechter, and which starred Jacob Kraemer, Sally Taylor-Isherwood and Nick Spencer. It follows teenager Jared ‘Coop’ Cooper who’s a lawyer at Banting High’s teen court, and the series won one of its three award nominations.

Sara became popular for playing Frankie Hollingsworth in 44 episodes from 2013 through 2015 of the romantic drama “Degrassi: The Next Generation”, created by Yan Moore and Kit Hood, and which starred Melinda Shankar, Stefan Brogren and Aislinn Paul. The series follows the lives of several children who are studying at the Degrassi Community School, aired from 2001 through 2015, and won 43 awards, while it was nominated for 103 others. Sarah reprised her role in the series “Degrassi: Next Class”, appearing in 37 episodes in 2016 and 2017.

The year 2017 saw her play Quin in two episodes of the action adventure science fiction “Killjoys”, while she could then have been seen playing Olivia Hartman in the 2017 episode “Pipes” of the drama “The Good Doctor”, and Teen Esther in two episodes of the 2018 comedy “Suits”.
