RollingRay, who has nicknamed himself ‘the most famous boy in a wheelchair,’ is an American-born rapper, social media personality, and reality TV star who rose to stardom for his appearance in the MTV show “Catfish: Trolls.” He’s released numerous songs including “Gun Action,” “Look At Me,” and Thank You.”

Age, Early Life, and Education Background

RollingRay was born Raymond Harper under the Virgo zodiac sign on 5 September 1996, in Martinsburg, Missouri, which makes him 27 years old as of 2024. Nothing is known about his parents, childhood and educational background.

Career

Ray released his debut single, “SnatchedMyWig’, in 2018,  and has since released various other tracks, including “Aw Bye” and “YouWantSome” both in 2020 and “BigPurrrr” and “CuntOfTheWeek” both in the year that followed. He’s collaborated with various artists including the hip-hop artist, King Bobby, with whom he threw an event in California.

Ray has appeared in the MTV reality TV show, “Catfish: Trolls,” which was hosted by Raymond Braun and Charlamagne Tha God, in which hosts explore the internet and expose personalities who are known bullie,s and find solutions to stop them from spreading rumors and hate speech. Ray appeared in an episode that followed the dispute between him and the social media personality, Camyonce. The feud began in mid-2010, when RollingRay ‘trolled’ the internet personality over his love for the famed rapper, Nikki Minaj. The feud escalated in 2016 when RollingRay lied to his fans that Camyonce lives with AIDS. After Ray and Camyonce met, the former refused to apologize properly which saw the feud spiral out of control. In one of the show’s episodes, Camyonce threw water in the rapper’s face, and later took to social media to speak about his outburst, claiming that Ray had harassed him on the internet for over three years.

Ray has co-hosted and served as a co-executive producer of the Zeus Network LGBTQ+ reality TV dating show “Bobby I Love You, Purrr,” in which 15 contestants, including the Canadian professional basketball player, Grandy Glaze, the Bahamian athlete, Jameson Strachan, and the basketball player, Andre Marhold, compete for the affection of the musician, Bobby Lytes. Previously, Lytes and RollingRay feuded online which had led to a confrontation aired on another Zeus Network TV reality show entitled “The Conversation”, but the duo was reunited for the dating show, in which Ray helped the rapper find love. Ray has also appeared in an episode of the Syndication network’s chat show, “Divorce Court.”

RollingRay joined Instagram (@iamrollingray) in October 2012, and received his verification in August 2021. He’s accumulated around 480,000 followers, and his bio reads ‘The most famous boy inna wheelchair, Purrr play wit somebody else never meee!! Executive producer of the Zeus hit show “Bobby I Love U Purrr!!!”’ Ray is active on X (formerly Twitter) with around 95,000 followers, having joined the platform in April 2013 and goes by the username @DMVMOSTFAMOUS.

Personal Life

RollingRay is openly gay, and is fond of cross-dressing and doing makeup. It’s reported that he’s currently dating a man named Roland; the two often post their photos on Instagram holding hands, kissing, and going on vacations. Ray is unmarried and without children as of 2024.

Rumors and Controversies

Death Hoax

Rumors of RollingRay’s death began spreading shortly after someone reported that the rapper was battling COVID-19, and was then in a comma. The rapper spent two weeks in hospital, and after he was discharged, he took to social media to address the death rumor and update his fans and supporters about his health condition. One of his posts read, ‘Oh, what? I’m not dead. It never gave dead. Do not ever play with me…I’m Rolling Ray, the most famous boy in a wheelchair, and it’s still giving what’s supposed to be given, puurrr!’

Scamming Allegations

In December 2022, the social media personality, Chastity Jones, and several other social media users, accused RollingRay of being a scammer. They claimed that they had paid RollingRay for Instagram shoutouts, but he didn’t deliver on his promise after they sent the money. Jones claimed that she paid Ray $75 to promote her body care brand, Glisten, whereas another fan named Chris allegedly paid the rapper $150 to endorse his credit repair business, but nothing was posted. Ray responded to the scam rumor, stating that at the time, his management lacked an organized system to track down payments, and later took to social media upholding his intent to refund the victims. He added that he’d established a better system to manage his social media advertising.

Why RollingRay Is in a Wheelchair

Different narratives of RollingRay being in a wheelchair have been spreading on the internet.

It’s reported that in September 2018, Ray was walking down the street when a car hit him, leaving him disabled. A few days after the accident, Ray posted his photo in a hospital bed on X and captioned it, ‘I had people praying on my death while I was in the hospital. But I’m still alive. They big mad. It wasn’t my time!’ He went on to claim that the music legends Beyonce and Jay-Z had called him, encouraging him to ‘keep his head up’ and ignore Internet trolls, claiming that his accident was a publicity stunt while he was hospitalized.

Some of Ray’s followers and fans have claimed that the rapper was born with a disability, after the musician Saucy Santana released the diss track “Walk” on National Disability Day. Many social media users speculated that the song was about Ray, who in response to the song, posted a statement on social media sharing that the hardships faced by people with disabilities were worth acknowledging. RollingRay is fond of shedding light on the mental and physical health challenges faced by people in wheelchairs. Fire Accident

In early 2021, Ray hit headlines when he accidentally set his wig on fire while trying to light a cigarette, then burned his hand as he attempted to take off the burning wig. He shared the details of the incident on Instagram on 17 January 2021, revealing that he was set to undergo surgery later that week. He also shared his photo, which showed bandages covering his head and face, with visible burn injuries to one of his eyes. Numerous social media users and celebrities, including the famed actress Taraji P. Henson, left positive comments and speedy recovery prayers for Ray.
