Who is KC Concepcion?
Filipino actress, dancer and philanthropist Maria Kristina Cassandra ‘KC’ Cuneta Concepcion, was born in Manila, the Philippines on 7 April 1985, making Aries her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in only 11 movies and TV series, and is probably known best for playing the lead character Marta ‘Marlady’ De Guzman in the 2013 drama movie “Boy Golden”, directed by Chito S. Rono, and which also starred Jorge Estregan and Joem Bascon. It tells the story of Arturo Porcuna who was a member of the Manila gang, and was murdered in the ‘60s; the movie won nine of its 41 award nominations.
KC is still active in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming film “Asian Persuasion”.

Education and early life
KC was raised in Manila an only child, by her Filipino father Gabriel Arellano Concepcion who’s a famous actor and singer, and Filipino mother Sharon Gamboa Cuneta-Pangilinan who’s an actress and TV host. KC was 11 when her mother married her second husband, Filipino attorney and politician Francis Pancratius ‘Kiko’ Nepomuceno Pangilinan, who adopted KC.
She completed her elementary education at Saint Pedro Poveda College, and went on to attend the International School Manila, matriculating in 2003. KC then moved to Paris, France and enrolled at American University of Paris, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international corporate communications in 2007.
Roles in movies
KC’s debut film role was playing the main character Pia Sandoval in the 2008 romantic drama “For the First Time”, directed by Joyce Bernal, and which also starred Richard Gutierrez and Phillip Salvador. It follows a man and a woman who’ve fallen in love while vacationing in Greece, and the movie won two of its 10 award nominations.
KC could then have been seen playing Jenny in the 2009 romantic comedy “When I Met U” and Vivian Vizcarra in the 2009 drama “Lovers in Paris”. In 2010, she starred as Maxi in the drama “I’ll Be There”, directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes, and which also starred KC’s mother Gabby and Jericho Rosales. It follows Poch who’s been living in the USA for 15 years, and has now returned to the Philippines to claim the inheritance which her mother has left her; the film was nominated for two awards.
The year 2011 saw KC play Raffy in the drama “Forever and a Day”, and she’s since then has had only one other film role, starring in the above mentioned 2013 drama “Boy Golden”; KC then took a long break from acting,but has recently begun working on several new projects.
Roles in TV series
KC’s debut TV series role was playing Abby Cruz in five episodes of the drama “May Bukas Pa”; it starred Zaijian Jaranilla, Albert Martinez and Maja Salvador, and follows Santino who was abandoned as a baby, and was raised at a monastery by Father Ringo, Father Jose and Father Anthony.
In 2011, KC portrayed Tagabantay in an episode of the drama “100 Days to Heaven”, which starred Xyriel Manabat and Coney Reyes, and follows cruel old woman Anna Malastas who’s become the owner of a toy company; the series was nominated for two awards.
From 2008 through 2011, KC played Angeline Quinto in the biographical romantic drama “Maalaala Mo Kaya”, which starred Charo Santos-Concio, Eva Darren and Cris Villanueva, and follows Charo as she’s narrating real-life stories of middle-class people; the series ran from 1991 through 2022, numbering over 1,300 episodes, and won seven of its 22 award nominations.
KC’s had only one other TV series role: she played Caroline in the 2011 episode “Christmas Caroline” of the action adventure comedy “Wansapanataym”, which aims to teach people about love.
Other credits
KC’s sung songs in five movies and TV series, including the song “Imposible” in the eponymous 2008 movie, the song “For the First Time” in the eponymous 2008 film, and the songs “Ikaw pa Rin” and “Letter Day Story” in the 2009 movie “When I Met U”.

KC’s won five of her 12 award nominations.
She won a 2009 Golden Screen Award for Breakthrough Performance by an Actress and a 2009 Star Award for New Movie Actress of the Year, both for her performance in “For the First Time”, and she then won a 2014 Star Award for Movie Actress of the Year and a 2014 FAMAS Award for Best Actress, both for “Boy Golden”.
In 2020, KC was presented with a YouTube Silver Creator Award, as there are today close to 500,000 people subscribed to her YouTube channel ‘Kristina KC Concepcion’, while all her videos combined have been watched over 25 million times.
Love life and boyfriends
KC’s quite open when it comes to sharing the details of her love life with her fans, and there are at least 10 men whom she’s dated that are known about. In 2003, KC dated non-celebrity Filipino Ugo De Charette, and was from 2003 through 2005 in a relationship with Rico Blanco, a famous Filipino musician.
She dated Filipino actor Billy Crawford from 2005 through 2007, and the year 2007 also saw her date former Mayor of Taguig Lino S. Cayetano. In 2010 and 2011, KC dated Piolo Pascual, a famous Filipino actor, and the year 2013 saw her date three men: French photographer Pierre-Emmanuel Plassart, American former professional basketball player Chandler Parsons and Filipino-American rapper Apl.de.Ap.
In 2014 and 2015, KC dated Filipino actor Paulo Avelino, and most recently, in 2017 and 2018, she dated Filipino soccer player Alexander Borromeo.
KC seems to be unattached as of February 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

KC’s passionate about music and has released two albums: “a.k.a Cassandra” on 15 July 2008 and “KC” in 2010, the former which was certified platinum in the Philippines.
