Bree Nicole Turner was born in Palo Alto, California USA, on 10 March 1977 – her zodiac sign is Pisces and she holds American nationality. She is an actress and a dancer, perhaps known best for her portrayal of Rosalee Calvert in the crime fantasy drama “Grimm”, created by Stephen Carpenter, Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt, and which starred David Giuntoli, Russell Hornsby and Silas Weir Mitchell. It follows a detective who has just learned that his ancestors were hunters of evil supernatural creatures. The series aired from 2011 to 2017, and won one award while it was nominated for 17 others, including two Primetime Emmys.
Childhood and education
Bree was raised in Palo Alto alongside her three younger brothers, by their father Kevin Turner who is a former American Football player, and who played for several teams competing in the National Football League (NFL), and their mother who is a housewife.
Bree became interested in acting while attending Monte Vista High School, and appeared in various plays performed at the school – upon matriculating in 1994, she was voted the Homecoming Queen. She went on to enroll at the King’s College, London before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles, but in 1996 Bree launched her acting career with her portrayal of French Girl in the family adventure comedy “Dunston Checks In”, written by John Hopkins, directed by Ken Kwapis, and which starred Jason Alexander, Faye Dunaway and Eric Lloyd.
It follows a man who becomes friends with an orangutan at a hotel; the movie was nominated for four awards.
Bree graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre, and then chose to focus on her acting career.
Roles in movies
In 1997, Bree appeared in the hit romantic comedy drama “My Best Friend’s Wedding” which starred Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney and Cameron Diaz, and follows a woman who realizes she’s in love with her best friend only after he’s about to marry another woman. The movie won 12 awards and was nominated for 24 others, including an Oscar.
Bree went on to portray supporting characters in several critically acclaimed movies, such as the romantic comedy “She’s All That”, the action adventure comedy “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” and the romantic comedy “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo” all in 1999.
The year 2001 saw her portray Tracy – Bride in the romantic comedy “The Wedding Planner”, which starred the famous actors Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, and follows a florist who falls in love with a groom. The movie won two out of the eight awards it was nominated for.
Bree went on to appear in the comedy “American Pie 2”, then in 2006 portrayed the supporting character Dana in the romantic fantasy comedy “Just My Luck”. 2009 saw her star alongside Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler in the romantic comedy “The Ugly Truth”, which follows a TV producer who falls in love with a misogynistic man who is hosting her show – the movie won three of the eight awards it was nominated for.
A couple of Bree’s following roles were in the 2010 action crime comedy “Dancing Ninja”, the 2011 romantic comedy “Take Me Home”, and the 2012 drama “Smashed”.
Three of Bree’s most recent roles in movies have been in the 2019 short comedy “I’m F%$#ing Fine”, the thriller “Glass Houses”, and the short comedy “Me Too Nice”, both in 2020.
Roles in TV series
Bree made her debut TV series appearance in the 1997 episode “Love Is Blind” of the comedy “USA High”, and in 1999 was invited to portray the supporting character Tina in the comedy “Undressed”, which follows sexual relationships between people of different races, genders and even fetishes.
Bree went on to appear in several series such as the family comedy “Moesha”, the comedy “Spin City” and the mystery crime drama “Cold Case”, and 2004 saw her star as Marjorie in the comedy “Good Girls Don’t…” but which was cancelled after eight episode because of low ratings. The following years saw Bree appear an episode or two of over 20 series, until in 2013 when she was cast to portray the lead character Rosalee Calvert in the short comedy mini-series “Grimm: Bad Hair Day”.
Her most recent role in a TV series has been in the 2020 comedy “Quarantine”, which starred Richard Jin, Brent Bailey and Joanna Sotomura, and follows the cast of the series “TV Soap” as they are staying at home during quarantine and are communicating via the online video chat service Zoom.
Bree appeared as a dancer in the 1998 evergreen sports comedy film “The Big Lebowski”, which won five and was nominated for 18 other awards.
She has appeared in various documentaries, such as the 2000 series “Electric Playground”, the 2004 “You’re on the Set of ‘Bring It on Again’ DVD”, and the 2006 short video “Working with a Master: Don Coscarelli”.

Husband and kids
In early 2008, Bree dated British-American actor Bryan Fisher, perhaps still known best for his portrayal of Jason McNamara in the comedy series “George Lopez” which aired from 2002 to 2007, and won ten awards including one Primetime Emmy. The two were together for only around a month, and Bree then went on to date Justin Saliman, who is an orthopedic surgeon.
After only a couple of months of dating, on 22 June 2008 the two married in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family members, and on 29 June 2010, Bree gave birth to their daughter Stella Jean Saliman followed by their son Dean Turner Saliman on 12 September 2012. Bree and Justin divorced in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences.
Bree hasn’t mentioned any other men she has perhaps been with, and as of March 2021, she is single, has been married once, and has two children.
Hobbies and other interests
Bree has been very sporting since a very early age, and is an avid roller skater entering various competitions and has won a couple.
She is interested in playing video games, and grew up playing on her Nintendo console, mostly “Track & Field” and “Mario Bros.”, and because of this spent a lot of her spare time with her brothers and male friends who were also gamers. Upon enrolling at a college, Bree bought herself a PlayStation, but hasn’t played anything in a while.

She is keen on travelling, and has been to various US states including Arizona, Texas and Nevada, and she has also visited a couple of European countries, including France and England.
Bree has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy and Amanda Seyfried, and a couple of her favorite movies are “The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, “Meet Dave” and “Letters to Juliette”.
