Who is Cynthia Daniel?

American professional photographer and retired actress Cynthia Lynn Daniel, was born as Cynthia Hauser in Gainesville, Florida USA on 17 March 1976, meaning that her zodiac sign’s Pisces. She has only six acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for her playing of Winkie in the 1995 biographical crime movie “The Basketball Diaries”, which Scott Kalvert directed, and which starred Marilyn Sokol, Lorraine Bracco and Leonardo DiCaprio. It follows a teenager who has a great chance to becomeg a professional basketball player, but has become addicted to drugs; the movie was nominated for two awards.

Education and early life

Cynthia, her five minutes younger twin sister Brittany and their older brother Brad, were raised in Gainesville by their father Charlton B. Daniel, Jr and mother Carol; Charlton lost his fight against cancer in 2008. Cynthia’s twin sister’s today a famous actress with more than 30 credits to her name, while she’s perhaps still best known for her playing of Candice in the 2010 action science fiction thriller movie “Skyline”.

Cynthia became interested in modelling while attending a local elementary school, and was 11 years old when both she and her sister were signed to Ford Agency, and were featured in the magazines “Sassy” and “YM”; some people might even still remember them from the Doublemint gum commercial, in which they appeared as ‘Doublemint Twins’.

Cynthia studied at a local high school in her hometown, and upon matriculating continued pursuing modelling rather than a college degree.

Roles in TV series

Cynthia’s debut TV series appearance was her playing of Zorigna in the 1989 episode “Man’s Greatest Achievement” of the family comedy “The New Leave It to Beaver”, which Brian Levant directed, and which starred Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow and Barbara Billingsley. It follows the lives of now adult Beaver Cleaver and his family, the series aired from 1983 to 1989 and won four of its 17 award nominations.

In 1994, Cynthia played Jenny in the episode “Who Killed the Legal Eagle?” of the crime mystery “Burke’s Law”, and from 1994 through 1997, she starred as Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Wakefield in the comedy “Sweet Valley High”, created by Josh Goldstein and Jonathan Prince, and which also starred her sister Brittany and Amy Danles. The series follows the lives of teenage twin girls, and won one of its two award nominations.

Cynthia then retired from acting, but has since returned twice, including when invited to play Bianca in the 2002 episode “Sophia’s Depressed” of the comedy “That ‘80s Show”, created by Mark Brazill and Terry Turner, and which starred Glenn Howerton, Tinsley Grimes and Chyler Leigh. Set in the ‘80s, the series follows a group of friends in their 20s from San Diego.

Since her retirement, Cynthia’s been working as a photographer, and has been staying away from the media’s attention.

Roles in movies

Cynthia’s had only one other film role besides “The Basketball Diaries”. In 2022, she portrayed Michele in the adventure family comedy “Cheaper by the Dozen”, directed by Gail Lerner, and which starred Gabrielle Union, Zach Braff and Erika Christensen; it follows the lives of all 12 members of the Bakers family.

Other credits

Cynthia was featured in a 1997 episode of the talk-show “Live & Kicking”, as well as in the 2014 episode “The Daniel Twins About Fighting Cancer at Stand Up 2 Cancer” of the talk-show “Hollywood Health Report”.

Cynthia’s won only a single award: a 1995 Young Artist Award for Best Performance: Young Actress in a TV Comedy Series for “Sweet Valley High” (shared with her sister Brittany).

Other than for her acting career, Cynthia’s also known for being the wife of famous American actor Cole Hauser, who’s appeared in over 50 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still best known for his portrayal of Carter Verone in the 2003 action crime thriller movie “2 Fast 2 Furious” – for his playing of the lead character in the 2020 family sports movie “The Last Champion”, Cole won a 2022 Faith in Film – Film Festival Award for Best Actor.

Cynthia and Cole married in a private ceremony on 22 December 2006; it’s believed that they were together for six years prior to exchanging vows. Their first son Colt Hauser was born in September 2004, and was followed by their second son Ryland Hauser on 12 June 2008; in 2013, Cynthia gave birth to their daughter Steely Rose Hauser.

There are no other men whom Cynthia’s dated that the public knows about, she’s married to Cole Hauser as of December 2022, and they have three children together.

Interesting facts and hobbies

Cynthia was a cheerleader while attending high school, and is still today an avid dancer.
