Dawn Orienne Olivieri was born in St. Petersburg, Florida USA, on 8 February 1981 – her zodiac sign is Aquarius and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress who’s perhaps still known best for her portrayal of Lydia in the science fiction fantasy series “Heroes”, created by Tim Kring and which starred Jack Coleman, Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia. It follows a group of people who have just discovered that they have superpowers; the series aired from 2006 to 2010 and won 32 awards, while it was nominated for 108 others including two Golden Globes.

Early life and education

Dawn was raised alongside her sister Bettina in St. Petersburg, by their father Salvatore A. Olivieri and their mother Nancy.

She was still attending a local elementary school when she became interested in acting, as Dawn spent a lot of her spare time watching movies and TV series with her sister and parents. She began appearing in school plays upon enrolling at a local high school, but was also interested in various other activities including playing soccer, dancing and singing. Dawn matriculated in 1999, and although she hasn’t spoken about her further education, it is widely believed that she enrolled at college and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre.

Dawn made her debut TV series appearance in 2005, when she played a stripper in the episode “Bodies in Motion” of the mystery crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.

The following years saw her appear in an episode or two of various series, such as the crime drama “Las Vegas”, the mystery crime drama “Veronica Mars”, and the hit romantic comedy “How I Met Your Mother”.

In 2009, Dawn was cast to portray the lead character Lydia in the science fiction drama mini-series “Heroes: Slow Burn”, which also starred Robert Knepper and Sasha Pieterse, and follows Lydia or The Painted Lady as she’s trying to find her lost daughter. The year 2011 saw her play the supporting character Andie Star in the hit fantasy horror drama “The Vampire Diaries”, created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, and which starred Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. From 2010 to 2012, Dawn voiced Pepper Potts in the animated family action “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”, which follows Marvel’s superheroes trying to catch 74 villains who have broken out of jail.

From 2012 to 2016, Dawn played Monica Talbot, one of the lead characters in the comedy “House of Lies” created by Matthew Carnahan, and which also starred Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell. It follows Marty Kaan and his friends as they trick CEOs of powerful companies into signing huge deals with them. The series won six awards including a Golden Globe, and was nominated for 33 other awards.

Three of Dawn’s most recent roles in TV series have been in three 2016 episodes of the crime drama “Secrets and Lies”, two 2017 episodes of the mystery crime drama “Rosewood”, and six 2018 episodes of the action war drama “SEAL Team”. Dawn made her debut film appearance in the 2006 action fantasy comedy “Devil’s Den” which received mixed reviews, and in 2009 she played the lead character Gwen Russell in the action adventure fantasy “Hydra”, written by Peter Sullivan, directed by Andrew Prendergast, and which also starred George Stults and Michael Shamus Wiles. It follows three convicts who have kidnapped a former Marine and taken him to a deserted island where rich people pay money to hunt men; however, the island is also a home to the beast known as the Hydra.

The movie won 70 awards and was nominated for 216 others, including ten Oscars.

The year 2015 saw Dawn play the supporting character Danique in the action fantasy adventure “The Last Witch Hunter” which starred Vin Diesel, Elijah Wood and Rose Leslie, and follows the only remaining witch hunter as he’s trying to protect the world from witches.

The following years saw Dawn appear in several hit movies, such as the 2017 action fantasy thriller “Bright” which starred Will Smith and won one award, the 2018 action crime “Den of Thieves” which starred Gerard Butler, and the 2018 thriller “Traffik” which starred Priscilla Quintana.

Her two most recent roles in movies have been in the 2018 action crime thriller “Darc” and the 2020 romantic drama “The Secret of Karma”. Dawn’s currently shooting for two upcoming movies: the action comedy “Double Threat”, and the romantic science fiction “Behind the Curtain of Night”.

Dawn has voiced characters in two video games: Rose Largo in the 2008 racing game “Need for Speed: Undercover”, and Lucy Kuo in the 2011 action adventure game “inFamous 2”.

Dawn is quite secretive when it comes to her love life and hasn’t talked about any men she’s perhaps been with, however, her fans believe that she has been in at least two relationships.

She was apparently in a relationship with Bryn Mooser, an American moviemaker and entrepreneur, and the two dated for around half a year before splitting ways for unknown reasons, however, neither Dawn nor Bryn have addressed these rumors.

It is also rumoured that Dawn dated Don Cheadle, an American actor, film writer and producer, perhaps still known best for his performance in the 1995 neo-noir mystery thriller movie “Devil in a Blue Dress” and the 1997 drama movie “Boogie Nights”. The two were allegedly together for around three months.

As she hasn’t spoken about anyone she is perhaps dating today, Dawn is single as of March 2021, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Dawn has been reading books since she was seven, and has read hundreds to this day while she’s urged others to read as well, claiming that it’s amongst the most peaceful and educational of activities.

She is a huge lover of animals – her favorites are donkeys and horses. Dawn has a pet dog which can be seen featured in many of her Instagram pictures.

She enjoys spending her free time in nature, and has to this day visited many of the US national parks, of which there are 63.
