Samantha Jade Logan was born in Boston, Massachusetts USA, on 27 October 1996 – her zodiac sign is Scorpio, she holds American nationality, and is of Trinidadian and Irish descent. She’s an actress who’s probably known best for her portrayal of the lead character Olivia Baker in the sports drama series “All American”, created by April Blair and which also stars Daniel Ezra and Michael Evans Behling. It has been airing since 2018, and follows the life of a teenage football star after he’s transferred to Beverly Hills High School from South Central. The series has won one of the five awards it’s been nominated for.
Childhood and education
Samantha was raised in Boston an only child, by her parents who prefer to stay away from the media’s attention, thus nothing about them is known.
She became interested in dancing at quite an early age, and was ten when she served as a protégé during a dancing tour which included many popular choreographers such as Laurieann Gibson, Brian Friedman and Mia Michaels. The same year she convinced her mother to move to Manhattan, New York City, as she wanted to pursue her acting career, which she launched aged 13. She portrayed a little girl in the 2009 episode “Enough About Eve” of the hit romantic drama series “Gossip Girl”, which starred Leighton Meester, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, and follows the blogger who calls himself/herself ‘Gossip Girl’, and is revealing the secrets of rich teenagers living on New York’s Upper East Side.
The series aired from 2007 to 2012, and won 21 awards of the 57 it was nominated for.
Samantha enroll at the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen, but then moved to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School. Upon matriculating in 2014, she chose not to pursue a college degree, but to focus on her acting career.
Roles in movies
Samantha made her debut film appearance with her portrayal of the spitting daughter in the 2011 drama “Detachment”, written by Carl Lund, directed by Tony Kaye, and which starred Adrien Brody, Marcia Gay Harden and Christina Hendricks. It follows the life of a substitute teacher, and the movie won eight of the 12 awards it was nominated for.
Her following film role came in 2014, when she portrayed Heather in the family comedy “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day”, which starred Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner and Ed Oxenbould, and follows a very bad day in the life of Alexander’s entire family; the film won one and was nominated for eight other awards. Her following roles were in the 2015 drama “Studio City” which failed to attract any attention, another 2015 drama “Members Only” which received mixed reviews, and the 2016 drama “Cruel Intentions”.
In 2019, Samantha was cast to play Kasey, one of the lead characters in the mystery horror drama “Polaroid”, written and directed by Lars Klevberg, and which also starred Kathryn Prescott and Tyler Young. It follows Bird Fitcher who has just found a Polaroid camera which, when used to take pictures of people, makes those people die.
Her most recent role in a movie has been in 2020, when she portrayed Davara Walsh in the crime horror “The Empty Man”, written and directed by David Prior, and which starred James Badge Dale, Sasha Frolova and Marin Ireland. It follows a former police officer as he’s tracking down a missing girl, and who then stumbles upon a group of people trying to summon an evil supernatural being. It won James Badge Dale a nomination for a 2021 Scream Award for Best Horror Actor.
Roles in TV series
Samantha gained recognition in 2012, when cast to portray the supporting character Nona Clark in the fantasy horror drama “666 Park Avenue”, created by David Wilcox and which starred Rachael Taylor, Dave Annable and Robert Buckley. It follows The Drake who has offered to grant a single wish to each of the residents of 203 apartments in New York City – the series was nominated for two awards.
The following year saw Samantha play Taylor DuBois in the popular romantic crime drama “General Hospital”, which has been airing since 1963 numbering over 6,700 episodes. She then went on to portray supporting characters in the romantic comedy “Melissa & Joey”, and the action fantasy drama “Teen Wolf”, both award-winning. The year 2014 saw as Tia Stephens in the romantic drama “The Fosters”, created by Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg, and which starred Teri Polo, Hayden Byerly and Sherri Saum; the series follows Callie Jacob who is being raised by his adoptive lesbian mothers, and won seven of the 39 awards it was nominated for.
In 2016, Samantha played Nessa, one of the lead characters in the romantic drama “Junior”, but which was cancelled after airing ten episodes because of low ratings.
Her most recent role in a TV series has been her portrayal of Nina Jones in 12 episodes of the mystery thriller drama “13 Reasons Why”, created by Brian Yorkey, and which starred Christian Navaro, Katherine Langford and Dylan Minnette. It’s about Clay Jensen who is investigating his crush Hannah’s mysterious suicide; the series aired from 2017 to 2020, and won four of the 20 awards it was nominated for, including a Golden Globe.
In 2009, Samantha was featured in the TV special “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade”.
She has made a guest appearance in an episode of two talk-shows: “Wolf Watch” in 2014 and “Comedy Bang! Bang!” in 2016.
Love life and relationships
Samantha prefers to keep details of her love life to herself, but has still let her fans have a glimpse into her current relationship with popular American actor Dylan Sprayberry.
The two have allegedly been together since November 2017, when Samantha uploaded the first picture featuring them together onto her Instagram account, however, it’s believed by some that they began dating months prior to that, but kept the relationship a secret. They have been together for more than three years now, and the two appear to be happy with each other.
Dylan Muse Sprayberry was born in Houston, Texas USA, on 7 July 1998 making him two years younger than Samantha. He has been credited with appearing in around 30 movies and TV series, and has been nominated for two Saturn Awards for his performance in the 2014 superhero movie “Man of Steel”, and the 2016 series “Teen Wolf”.
Samantha hasn’t mentioned any other boys she has perhaps dated, while it is known that Dylan dated four girls prior to meeting Samantha: the actress Adelaide H. O’Brien in 2014, the model Estelle Yves in 2015, the actress Alisha Heng Gillies in 2015, and the actress Victoria Moroles in 2016.
As of March 2021, Samantha’s dating Dylan Sprayberry, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Samantha has been interested in doing charity work since her early teenage years, and she’s today mostly focused on working with the organizations IVHQ and 5acres.
She’s a dog-lover, and her pet Shih Tzu called Maximus can be seen featured in many of her Instagram pictures. Samantha also has a ragdoll cat she calls Zoe.

Although not very interested in politics, Samantha urged people to vote in the 2020 presidential election, as she was dissatisfied with how Donald Trump led the country.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Rosario Dawson – her favorite movies include “The Little Things”, “I Am Legend” and “The Independence Day”.
