Early life, family, and education

Born under the zodiac sign of Leo on 14 August 1969, Preston hails from Carthage, Missouri USA, thus he holds American nationality. Preston comes from a family of Jewish descent, which is all that’s known about his family.

When it comes to his educational background, he attended Neosho High School, and upon matriculating in 1997, he enrolled at Crowder College then transferred to Missouri Southern State University, however, it isn’t clear if he ever obtained his college degree.

Jackass

Prior to his work with “Jackass”, Preston worked as a truck driver, and he made an appearance in several commercials before he met Johnny Knoxville, a co-creator and star of “Jackass”. The two met when Johnny’s now ex-wife hired Preston to transport textiles for her clothing company. Preston and Johnny became friends, and at first, Preston was brought onto the show as a writer, since Johnny liked his ideas. Subsequently, Johnny convinced Preston to participate in the  hilarious Jackass’ stunts.

Besides the aforementioned skit with Wee Man, Preston is known for his outbursts of anger, and his extreme fear of heights.

Preston made his on-screen debut in 2000 and has stayed with “Jackass” for all these years. He was seen in numerous funny, sometimes dangerous scenes, in 22 episodes of the series during 2000 and 2001. In the following years, he was seen in “Jackass: The Movie” (2002), “Jackass Number Two” (2006), “Jackass 2.5” (2007), and “Jackass 3.5” (2011).

Most recently, he was seen in the 2022 movie “Jackass Forever”, which won the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Ensemble Cast.

Later that year, he was seen in the documentary movie “Jackass 4.5”, which featured never-before-seen footage of the crew’s last wild stunts.

Other acting credits

Preston made his first television appearance playing various characters on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” in 1992. He was also seen as Billy Grill in an episode of the 1999 science-fiction comedy series “Captain Jackson”.

In 2001, Preston made his big-screen debut as Chris in the comedy “Bacon Head”, followed by his role as Hefty Man in the 2003 sports comedy “Grind”, also starring Adam Brody, Mike Vogel, and Joey Kern.

Preston’s next movie role came in 2006 when he was cast to play Sheldon Cardoza in the family comedy “Christmas in Wonderland”, which was nominated for the Young Artist Award. Later that year, Preston starred as a Big Fat Party Guy in the National Lampoon’s comedy “TV: The Movie”, also starring his fellow from “Jackass”, Wee Man and Steve-O. Preston also co-wrote the script for this movie with Sam Macaroni.

Also in 2006, Preston was cast to play Randy in the comedy “Pledge This!”, starring Paris Hilton. The movie was poorly rated by the critics and the audience (1.6/10), with Paris nominated for the Stinkers Bad Movie Award- Worst Actress.

Three years later, Preston wanted to try something different from his previous roles in “Jackass” and comedy films, so he and Sam Macaroni wrote the script for a ‘more family movie’, as he put it. Preston played Forrest Fonda opposite Sam Macaroni and Dian Bachar in “The Life of Lucky Cucumber”, a comedy that received no nominations but was rated ‘funny with a pretty cool epilogue’ by the audience.

Next, Preston was seen as Buzz in the 2011 romantic comedy “A Holiday Heist”, followed by his voice role as Rusty in the 2015 animated movie “Up on the Wooftop”.

Most recently, Preston portrayed Micky in the 2020 comedy “Guest House”, written and directed by Sam Macaroni, which followed the story of a newly engaged couple who bought their dream house but they haven’t realized that there is a catch- a tenant in a guest house, who loves parties. The stars of the movie were Mike Castle, Pauly Shore, and Aimee Teegarden.

Love life and relationships

Preston was the subject of numerous rumors about his sexual orientation, with the majority of them claiming that he’s gay because he was never seen with any woman in public. He hasn’t commented about these assumptions, which caused more rumors, especially after some photos Preston posted on his Instagram, featuring him hugging an unidentified man.

He’s never wanted to comment on his love status, and to questions about it, he answered sarcastically.

As of January 2023, it is assumed that Preston is single, hasn’t married, and doesn’t have children. It is known that he’s adopted a dog and named it Sadie.

What is he doing now?

Besides his work as a writer, actor, and stunt performer, Preston is a well-known stand-up comedian; he’s participated in the BBM Comedy Tours, held in New York City, and Tampa, Florida. Currently, he performs at festivals, and in bar rooms and clubs across the US.

Age, weight, and net worth

Preston is 53 years old, and his trademark for years was his obesity. He weighs around 265lbs (120kgs), but last year his new year’s resolution was to lose some weight. Preston was spotted riding a tricycle down Hollywood Boulevard, but it doesn’t appear that he’s lost much weight. It’s unclear whether he was joking when he said that “Jackass” director Jeff Tremaine threatened to fire him if he lost too much weight. If you’ve wondered how tall Preston is, he stands at the height of 5ft 7ins (1.74m).

Preston amassed a decent fortune while performing in “Jackass”, (although mostly without his pants and shirtless on the streets), but his stunts earned him a net worth of more than $3 million.
