Who is Madeleine Mantock?

Madeleine Mantock was born in Nottingham, England, on 26 May 1990 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, she holds British nationality and is of Afro-Caribbean descent. She is an actress with 11 credits to her name, probably known best for her portrayal of Witch Macy Vaughn, one of the lead characters in the fantasy drama series “Charmed” which also starred Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery, and follows three sisters who are witches, but fighting evil supernatural beings. Early life and education

Madeleine was raised in Nottingham alongside her older brother, by their parents who are both believed to be theatre actors, however, Madeleine hasn’t shared any details concerning them.

She became interested in acting while attending a local high school, and practiced her skills at a community theatre as well as with her school’s drama club. Madeleine was often chosen to play lead characters in these plays, and this motivated her to enroll at Arts Education School, London upon matriculating in 2008. During her time there, Madeleine was mostly focused on singing and acting, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in musical theatre in 2012.

Madeleine made her debut TV series appearance in 2011, when cast to portray Scarlett Conway, one of the supporting characters in the drama “Casualty”, created by Jeremy Brock and Paul Unwin, and which stars Derek Thompson, Tony Marshall and Suzanne Packer. It follows the lives of doctors and patients at Holby City Hospital, and the series has been airing since 1986, today couning close to 1200 episodes, while it’s been nominated for 44 awards, winning 11.

In 2013, Madeleine guest starred as Miss Summers in a single episode of the comedy “Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People”, and the same year saw her portray Astrid Finch in all 22 episodes of the action science fiction drama “The Tomorrow People”, which starred Robbie Amell, Peyton List and Lue Mitchell, and is about several people with extraordinary mental abilities who are wanted dead by the agents of Ultra. Madeleine went on to portray one of the lead characters in the critically acclaimed action adventure drama “Into the Badlands”, which follows a warrior and a teenage boy searching for enlightenment and justice in a country controlled by evil barons.

She also portrayed Lorelei, one of the lead characters in the 2018 drama “Age Before Beauty”, but which was cancelled for low ratings after airing just six episodes.

Madeleine’s most recent role in a TV series other than “Charmed” has been in three 2018 episodes of the drama “The Long Song”, which is based on the eponymous novel written by Andrea Levy. It follows July who is working on a sugar plantation in Jamaica, right before the end of slavery, and won three awards while it was nominated for four others.

Madeleine has four movie credits – she made her debut film appearance in 2014, when cast to portray Julie in the critically acclaimed action adventure science fiction “Edge of Tomorrow”, which starred Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton, in the story of a soldier fighting aliens, who relives the same day every time he is killed. It won 11 awards and was nominated for 38 others.

The year 2016 saw Madeleine portray Laura in the drama “The Truth Commissioner”, which received mixed reviews and attracted little attention. Her following role was in the 2018 family musical drama “Breaking Brooklyn”, written and directed by Paul Becker, and which also starred Colin Critchley and Nathan Kress. It follows two brothers who are rescued from the streets by an old man, and are now living with him and his brother who is a dancer.

Madeleine’s only other role in a movie has been in the 2018 short drama “Sasha and Jo are Getting Married”, written and directed by Pier Wilkie. It follows a woman as she’s thinking about her past, while trying on a wedding dress.

Love life and relationships

Madeleine doesn’t like to talk about her love life and not a lot is known about the men she might have been with. Although she hasn’t confirmed it, it’s known that in 2014 she was in a relationship with Robbie Arnell, a Canadian-American actor known for his starring roles in the science fiction series “The Tomorrow People” – which is how he met Madeleine – the superhero series “The Flash”, and the science fantasy movie “The Hunters”. He and Madeleine dated for a couple of months before splitting ways for unknown reasons.

Some people believe that Madeleine might be dating a mysterious man today, as she’s allegedly been seen walking hand in hand with him in the streets of London, however, no proof has been provided to support these claims, nor has Madeleine commented on the matter.

As of January 2021, she seems to be single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Madeleine is a dog person, and her pet dog can be seen featured in many of her Instagram pictures – it’s so small that she often carries it around in her bag.

Madeleine seems to be crazy about clothes, and goes shopping for these a couple of times each week, making her a shopaholic, and doing her best to keep up with the latest fashion trends.
