Early Life, Family, Nationality, Ethnicity
Liana Brackett spent her early years in her hometown of Temecula, where she was raised by her parents.
There isn’t much information in the media about their family, except that the name of her mother is Alisia Ramirez and that she has a younger sister. Of interest is that her grandmother Vern was one of the first women employed at the Chevron Oil Factory in the San Francisco Bay Area. Liana holds American nationality, and belongs to mixed ethnic group, as her father is Mexican, while her mother is African-American. She is very proud of her heritage, but has admitted that she isn’t fluent in the Spanish language.
Liana attended Temecula Valley High School, then enrolled into Arizona State University, where she studied Communication and Media for two years.
She then became interested in weather forecasting, so she transferred to the University of California, Davis, from which she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology in 2009. While in college, she also attended Latin and ballroom dancing classes, and spent some time performing en pointe in ballet.
According to her LinkedIn account, Liana served as a student intern at KCRA TV Channel 3, an NBC-affiliated television station in Sacramento, California, between January 2008 and January 2009. While in there, she provided answers to local callers to questions related to weather, and assisted with other daily tasks.
Concurrently, she did an internship at the National Weather Service from November 2008 to January 2009.

In August 2009, Liana landed a job as a full-time employee at the National Weather Service in Portland, Oregon, working there for more than six years until December 2015, issuing watchers, advisories, and warnings for northwest Oregon and southwest Washington State. She also served as a Skywarn Spotter Program Lead and Weather Story Program Lead.
Besides that, she worked as a co-ordinator for the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show, and the Oregon CoCoRaHS (Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network). Thanks to her hard work at NSW, Liana won a number of awards, such as five-time Special Service Award, one Gold Spot Award, and an Isaac Cline Award.

In January 2016, Liana joined the FOX-affiliated television station KPTV Fox 12 Oregon, based in Beaverton. She there worked in the position of an on-camera meteorologist, in charge of anchoring and producing newscasts as well as creating daily forecasts and weather graphics. In that April, she represented the station at the Girl Scouts STEM Day. She remained there until July of the same year.

She worked there as an on-camera meteorologist, making appearances in a number of the network’s shows, such as “Weather Top Tens”, “Weather Gone Viral”, and “Weekend Recharge”, to name a few.
In March 2020, the network announced that Liana would be moved to the position of a weekend host for their new show entitled “Weather Today”, which premiered in the following month. It has been aired on the mobile-first short-form streaming platform Quibi ever since.
Furthermore, Liana joined the Fox 11 News in Los Angeles, California as a freelance meteorologist in September 2020, spending four months there appearing occasionally on various newscasts.

They met each other back in 2013, and after dating for more than a year, the lovebirds walked down the aisle at a private wedding ceremony held on 15 August 2015. in San Diego, California. The happy couple frequently posts cute snaps on their social media. They have no children, and their current residence is in Atlanta, Georgia.
Both Liana and her husband are avid animal lovers, and have two pet dogs named Dasher and Dolce.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, and her favorite holiday destinations are Mexico, Barbados and Spain; she’s also visited Italy and France. Her favorite season is summer.
