Taylor moved to Los Angeles, California, USA, with her family, which turned out to be a smart career move for her. She began by appearing in television commercials, and slowly made transgression into television acting.

The film follows a young boy who dreams of two superhero children, Sharkboy and Lavagirl, then on a fateful day, a tornado strikes, and this boy’s dreams become reality as he is whisked away by his two imaginary superheroes into their world to help them save their planet. Her co-stars were Taylor Lautner as Sharkboy and Cayden Boyd as the young boy Max, and the film became an absolute hit, launching Taylor to stardom.  The trio has remained friends until the present day and are still advocating for a sequel, while Taylor has expressed her desire for a Lavagirl standalone film. She had to dye her hair pink for the role, but she had no problems with it, and many producers praised her dedication and work on the whole.

She has since appeared in several prominent projects, but has been on several breaks from acting throughout the years, including graduating with a degree in psychology, but she hasn’t revealed which university she attended. Moreover, she completed the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute studies.

In 2006, Taylor appeared in the short drama film “Apology”, written and directed by Kyla Colavitti, with Jessi and Nikki Haddad in the lead roles, alongside Mirjam Novak. The same year, Taylor co-starred in the adventure comedy film “Monster Night”, about a teenager who while babysitting his younger siblings on Halloween discovers that his house is haunted, with Christian Salazar, Robert Carradine and Vanessa Angel in the lead roles.

In 2008, Taylor portrayed Rachelle in the Primetime Emmy Award-winning TV medical drama series “House”, with Hugh Laurie in the titular role.

From 2008 until 2017, she was away from show business with her education, returning with a role in the crime-drama film “Hell Mountain”, written and directed by Jesse Pomeroy and co-starring Megan Collaso and Markus Innocenti, about a young reporter who discovers a connection between legendary hell mountain and an abandoned house.

In 2020, Taylor reprised Lavagirl in the film “We Can Be Heroes”, directed by Robert Rodriguez while it was written by Rodriguez, Sara Endsley, and Dan Foos. The film stars YaYa Gosselin, Pedro Pascal, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and it follows children of superhero parents as they team up to save their parents and the earth on the whole from alien invaders.

Since then, Taylor hasn’t had any acting credits, but has appeared in advertisements for a number of brands, including Famous Footwear and Honda, among others.
